Pedestal sink vs. vanity cab - ladies, where do you store...
Comments (10)OMG, I can't believe they make a special recessed cabinet for plungers! Anyway, something like that would actually work really well. I'm not sure how much recessed storage I'll be able to have, though, because I have no idea what's in my walls. As you can see, the current medicine cabinet over the sink and that hamper are recessed, but that's partially because the lower half of the walls are built out with cement, and that's being torn out in the remodel. Perhaps that Hy-dit would fit in the old hamper space... Gscience, I agree with you that non-recessed cabs can make the place look smaller. I'd like to recess a cab in the spot where the blond wood cab is not - if I can't, I may just put a mirror there. I'm also planning a much larger medicine cabinet over the sink - don't know if I'll be able to recess it, so I guess I'll wait to buy anything until my contractor starts tearing things up... Anyway, thanks for the ideas, ladies - keep 'em coming!!!!!...See MoreWhat do you store in your Lazy Susan?
Comments (17)Not necessarily true about smaller Lazy Susans. My 33" Lazy Susan in my previous house fit blenders, food processors, toaster, mixing bowls, etc, without a problem. I never fought with getting things in or out, never had an issue, contrary to what other people tried to tell me. I used it to store all small appliances, bowls, and miscellaneous gadgets that didn't really fit anywhere else. This pic was taken right before I moved as I was packing and thought to snap a photo. Normally, it was packed much fuller than this. You don't have to have a large kitchen to make it work, and you don't have to settle for wasted empty space or a blind cabinet (which wouldn't have worked at all in my layout). This 33" LS was the best, very efficient use of an awkward corner. My current house also has a LS, this time a 36" one. Again, I store small appliances, bowls, gadgets, tea pitchers, cutting boards, pyrex dishes, salad spinner, oversized pots/pans. It's a disorganized mess right now but that's because I'm lazy and just throw things in there. It's easy like that....See MoreWhat do you store in your Angled Base Cabinet?
Comments (5)I have angled base and upper cabinets on each side of my corner oven cabinet. I was wondering what I would be able to put in those cabinets. I am pleasantly surprised at what I am able to store in them. The lowers have hinged doors on them so it should still be easy to access the contents once the counter tops are on. The angled uppers each have two doors.I have glassware in those cabinets. Here are some pictures of the lowers....See MoreWhat do you store under your bed?
Comments (39)Azzalea, I did that with my DD's bed many, many years ago as I got tired of their stuff, from toys to clothes, hiding under there. That was over 30 years ago. Under ours is some bins with my summer blouses and shorts, a box with some old pictures and on DH's side he has a couple stacks of old 'motor manuals' that he used when working on vehicles. I need to get those out and to my shop and sell them, if I can sneak them out, he hates to give up anything even if he hasn't used it for years. In the guest room, I did have a underbed shoe storage bad that I put extra yarn in, it's now in a storage shed. There's a bag with wrapping paper under there now. I have to leave room under both as when it storms, the first place our dog heads to is under one of the beds. Helps keep the dust bunnies under control. lol...See Moreallyped
