Warm the cream cheese and stir into noodles and chicken.

Beef Stroganoff? There are mashed potato recipes that call for cream cheese. I think Pioneer Woman has one.

Dips--creamed corn-soups -and best of all freeze it. I buy it on sale and always have it in my freezer-works for anything -just thaw it ahead of when you want to use it.

Pour pepper jelly over it and serve up with crackers

Crepes de Pommes de Terre (Grated Potato Pancakes)

8 ounces cream cheese

3 tablespoons flour

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

6 ounces (1 1/4 cups) Swiss cheese, grated

2 1/2 pounds baking potatoes

3 to 6 tablespoons whipping cream

Optional: 1/2 cup diced ham, 1/2 cup sauteed mushrooms, chicken livers, onions or 3 to 4 tablespoons fresh herbs such as parsley, chives, chervil

1 1/2 tablespoons butter, more as needed

1/2 tablespoon oil, more as needed

DIRECTIONS

Mash the cream cheese with the flour, in a mixing bowl. Mix the eggs and seasonings and beat until smooth. Stir in the Swiss cheese. Peel the potatoes and rub them through the large holes of the grater. A small handful at a time, twist them into a ball in the corner of a towel to squeeze out as much of their water as you can. Stir the grated raw potatoes into the egg and cheese mixture. Stir in the cream by spoonfuls to make a mixture the consistency of a thick, creamed cole slaw, not runny. Add optional ingredients. Taste carefully for seasoning. Set skillet over moderately high heat with the butter and oil. When you see the butter foam begin to subside, ladle 3 piles of batter into the skillet to form 3 crepes approximately 3 inches in diameter and 3/8 inch thick. Regulate heat so crepes are lightly browned on the bottom and bubble holes have appeared on the surface in about 3 minutes. Then turn and brown on the other side for about 3 minutes. Transfer to platter and keep warm in one layer while making the remaining crepes. If not served immediately, arrange crepes in one layer on a baking sheet. Set aside uncovered. Reheat for four to five minutes in a 400 degree oven. Make 18 crepes.

sushipup, that looks like a rich but fabulous recipe. I'll have to try it.

Pump toad, you could always buy a bag of bagels and then invite some friends over for breakfast.

Slow Cooker (Crockpot) Beef Stroganoff

2 pounds beef stew meat
1 cup chopped onion
2 cans (10 3/4 ounces) condensed golden mushroom soup
1 Lipton Onion Soup pouch
1 tub of fresh sliced mushrooms (two cups or so)
Fresh ground black pepper
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, cubed
1 container (8 ounces) sour cream
6 cups hot cooked noodles or rice

In 3 1/2- to 4 1/2-quart slow cooker, mix beef, onion, soups, mushrooms and pepper.
Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 10 hours or until beef is very tender.
Stir cream cheese into beef mixture until melted. Stir sour cream into beef mixture. Serve over noodles or rice.

Makes 8 servings

Corn casserole

Ingredients

8 ounce package of cream cheese, cubed and at room temperature
4 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
18 ounce bag frozen sweet corn, thawed
Diced jalapeños, to taste (optional)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Directions

Preheat oven to 350ðF. In a medium pot set over low heat, melt cream cheese and butter. Stir in milk until mixture is smooth and creamy. Stir in salt, corn, and (if using) jalapeños.
Pour corn mixture into an 8- by 8-inch square (or comparably sized) baking dish. Sprinkle with grated cheddar. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

An appetizer or a nice snack dish.

Crab Pizza
8 oz Philly
1 tbsp. mayonnaise
1 tbsp Worcestershire
garlic powder to taste (probably only 1/4 tsp or so)
1 small onion, grated
1/2 bottle chili sauce
1 can crab meat or 6 crab sticks.

Mix together cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and grated onion. Spread mixture on plate to 1/4 inch thickness. Spread chili sauce evenly over top (I use enough chili sauce to just cover, maybe less than 1/2 bottle). Flake crab and add to top of pizza. Serve with knife and Ritz crackers.

I usually use smoked salmon and cream cheese to make a dip for appetizers. However the store was out of smoked salmon bits, but had smoked shrimp on sale, so I made the following:

Smoked seafood dip

4 oz cream cheese
6 oz smoked seafood (salmon, shrimp, etc)
1 Tbsp capers
1 Tbsp mayo

place cream cheese, capers, mayo and about 2/3 of the seafood in a mini-blender/mini-food processor pulse until fairly uniform. Add remaining seafood, except for 1 or 2pieces, pulse one or twice.
Remove to serving dish, top with the last couple of pieces of seafood.

I always use cream cheese as a pasta sauce.

I will quickly stir-fry meat and vegies and then add the cream cheese to the pan. Melt it on low heat, add a little bit of milk and then use some of the water from the boiling pasta as it is nearing being done and add it to the cream cheese and stir it in. The water has a thickener in it having absorbed it from the pasta and makes a really nice sauce with the cream cheese. I probably add about 1/2 - 1 cup to the cream cheese sauce. Pour over the pasta or add the pasta to the frypan.

I made this last night. It is yummy and easy when you don't want to cook, but have to feed people anyway. I made mine on the stove and made the chicken separately. I added the extra water from the chicken to the soup to thin it down a little bit.

Easy appetizer or football game day food- put the block of cream cheese on a platter. Dump a can of good chili on top and smother it with shredded Mexican cheese. Heat in micro til all cheese is warm and melty. Surround it all with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped onions and some sliced jalapeños. Serve with tortilla chips.

Make Alfredo sauce.

Creamed spinach
2 packages frozen spinach, (10 oz each)
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, melted, divided
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
Dash of nutmeg: optional
PREPARATION:
Thaw spinach and press or squeeze to remove excess water. Grease a casserole dish and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine the spinach, cream cheese, and 1/4 cup of melted butter and nutmeg.
Spoon into casserole dish.

Toss remaining butter with breadcrumbs and add to top of casserole
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
Serves 4.

Mushroom tart with cream cheese pastry, yum!

One of my favorite, though, is a big toasted bagel with a generous smear of cream cheese, lox, purple onion, a sprinkle of capers. Utterly traditional but oh, so good.

Softened cr cheese and jelly on toast!!

Ohhhh, tortilla rollups!

10 tortillas at room temperature
Package softened cream cheese
Package taco seasoning
Can of Rotel, drained well
Package finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Finely chopped lettuce

Place the tortilla on a plate
Spread on the softened cream cheese
Sprinkle on the taco seasoning to taste
Layer on some Rotel
Layer of finely chopped lettuce
Layer on some finely shredded lettuce

Roll tightly and cut on the diagonal. Serve with a side of rotel - this is SO GOOD!

Garlic mashed potatoes.

I can't give you totally exact measurements because I make these when I cook for the crew. I sort of eyeball it depending on whether I am doing a couple of pounds of spuds or 10 pounds of spuds.

Cook and drain your spuds per usual.

Finely dice 1 small to med. onion
1 Tbsp crushed garlic
2 Tbsp butter
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, cubed
1/2 to 1C milk

Heat butter in sauce pan, saute onions and garlic until onions are clear. Add milk and cream cheese, stirring until cream cheese is melted.

Add to potatoes and mash.

These are a huge hit with the guys during weaning time and at Christmas.

I use it in my potato soup. Here is my recipe

3 cups water, add 1 TB chicken stock in a jar
( or use 3cups of chicken broth instead )
4 1/2 cups diced potatoes
1/8 cup diced onions (more or less to taste)
1/8 cup diced celery
1 grated carrot
Natures seasoning & creole seasoning to taste
dash red pepper
8 oz cream cheese (I use just 4 oz and its fine)
1 slice of pepper jack cheese (opt)

Combine broth , potatoes, onion, celery, carrot & spices.
Boil on med. heat until potatoes are tender.
Smash a few to release starch for thickening
reduce to low heat, add cream cheese & a slice of pepper jack cheese,
cook just a few more minutes.

If you like it smooth use a hand blender or blend in blender.

*You can also make this in the crock pot, just add the cheese the last 30 min. cook about 5-6- hrs

Thin slices of ham, large pickles. Spread the cream cheese on the ham, roll around a pickle, slice in one inch rounds. Great for game day!!

Cream cheese + cream of chicken soup is a great chicken linguini sauce. Add some garlic/onions/fresh mushrooms you can thin with wine or pasta water

Tonight I made baked stuffed fresh toast with a cream cheese filling.
I think a tougher question might be what can't you do with cream cheese.

Cheese Ball

8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 lb. sharp cheddar
1/2 C. chopped pecans
1 clove garlic mashed with 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 T. mayo

MIx in blender. Chill. form into ball in roll in chopped nuts.

Crab, cream cheese and chili sauce

8 oz. crab meat
8 oz. package cream cheese
green onions sliced

Sauce

1/2 C. chili sauce
1 tsp horseradish
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp Tabasco sauce
2 T. lemon juice
1 tsp chopped chives
1/4 tsp. parsley
1 tsp salt

Spread cream cheese in small pie plate. Cover with crab meat. top with sauce. Sprinkle with green onions. Serve with triscuits.

Christmas pudding (I don't know where this name came from but that's what we call it)

8 oz. cream cheese
1 pkg. chipped beef
1/8 sp. pepper
2 tsp. milk
2 tsp. minced green onions
1/2 C. sour cream

Mix together and place in 8" pie plate. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Bake 350 for 15 minutes. Serve with crackers

Beef Cheese logs

1 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 T.mayo
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 T. chopped green olives (I like to use jalapeño stuffed) *
1 T. minced parsley
1 tsp. finely chopped onions
1/2 C. finely snipped dried beef

Blend cheese with mayo and worcestershire. Add olives, parsley and onion. On waxed paper, shape into two rolls 1 1/2" in diameter. Chill until firm. Roll in chopped dried beef. Serve with crackers.

*Can use pimento stuffed olives, too. I don't even like olives but I love this.

forget savory! buy a good loaf of raisin bread, make toast and spread away!

This takes five minutes to make and five minutes to melt! Its always a big hit and always included on my party menu.

1 package of Cream cheese
1 can of Hormel Chili
Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Enough to spread over the top)

Spread cream cheese in a 9x11 inch pan about 1/4 inch thick
Spread a can of Hormel Chili on top of that
Sprinkle the entire top with cheddar cheese (Shredded)

Bake at 350 degrees until warm and bubbly. (dont over cook, or the cream cheese separates, just bake enough to melt it all).

Serve with tortilla chips! Ohhhh Sooo Good! :)

A dip for tortilla chips etc. Cream cheese, shredded cheese, refried beans if you like, salsa, taco seasoning, shredded lettuce or sliced green onions, black olives.

My mother used to spread cream cheese between 2 "soda" crackers (or whatever they are called), dip it in egg and brown in butter. Delicious. We loved it and I often made that for my kids, too.

I posted the Cajun Chicken Alfredo one pot wonder recipe on the recipe thread for those interested.

My sister would put a softened block of cream cheese on a plate and pour a bottle of Tiger sauce over it and serve with crackers. Very unique and tasty.
