Comments (52)Classic Leather is also handmade in NC. Classic uses a mixture of hardwoods not all of their frames are solid and not all of their frames are true 8-way hand-tied, it depends on the style. Bradington Young is more economical because they use a multiply laminated hardwood frame in place of the solid knot free kiln dried hardwood frames used by Leathercraft. Bradington Young is now a division of Hooker Furniture rather than a family owned business like both Classic and Leathercraft are. Both Classic and leathercraft cater to a higher end customer, they are both willing to make custom changes on all their products within reason. Bradington Young is more main stream they cater more to the masses, they do not like to change up patterns and such but are willing to make subtle changes to their frames like adding or deleting nail trim and they do offer seating or cushion options like both Leathercraft and Classic. All three of these manufactures are based in North Carolina and build outstanding products and yes we do sell all three brands at our store that is why I can comment on this topic as an expert because we are a leather specialty company and my experience comes from years of working with these exceptional leather furniture manufactures....See MoreSectional Sofas...a good idea? or don't go there?
Comments (39)Just to update, we finally ordered a sectional from Century. It is L shaped with a loveseat on one wall and a sofa length on the other. The good thing is that it is 43" deep so it should be very comfortable to lay on. We chose a chenille type fabric in a greenish tone. We started the room's decor off by picking 2 oriental rugs and pulling colors from that. The sofa comes with 7 throw pillows, so I chose 2 different fabrics for 4 of those. We'll see if it works or not when it comes in! On another note, once we started to choose decor, we realized the color on the walls was pukey and we had to get the painters back to change from blue to brown. I'm so glad we did that. It really warms up a basement room with no windows. The lighting is what made color selection so tricky. Also in there, we got a leather recliner from Hancock & Moore. And the really neat looking Wisteria Barn door coffee table. Funny thing is that when it arrived, it really did smell like a...barn door! Fortunately that smell has disapated....See MoreHelp with living room arrangement with sectional
Comments (2)I think it would serve you well to tape our or cut out cardboard squares and actually lay them down on the floor so you can see the pieces of furniture on your wood floor and hang a mock up of you TV opposite it and get a real feel for how much volume the pieces will take up and so you can see the walk patterns, where the lamps will go, the foot stools and the size rug you will need....start there to see how it will fit the room and then make your decisions........See MoreHELP! Comments (5)Hancock and Moore has been a winner for me with my leather & fabric combo sofa. Most comfortable sofa I ever owned. It is 13 yrs old and still looks new. I've been pleased with my Flexsteel leather recliners. I've had them for a yr and use them daily and the leather looks new. I also have 2 Flexsteel fabric swivel chairs that have had a lot of use for the last 13 yrs and they have performed well and the chairs are just starting to look a tad tired so you might want to check them out, too. My partner's parents have owned multiple Natuzzi sofa's and it is what they sit on all day and night long. I have to say I haven't been impressed by the wear of both the cushions and the leather. They don't clean the leather and I don't know if Natuzzi offers different grades of leather which may have something to do with how it is wearing, too....See Moreclt3
