Ashely Furniture Millennium vs. Flexsteel Latitude Feedback
Comments (6)You should look on your local Craig's list for a used reclining sofa. Either, you'll get a dirt cheap Ashley-type sofa that will last for a few years, or pay a bit more to get a great sofa of Hancock & Moore quality (but it will still be affordable because it's used.) With so many people going through foreclosure/financial hard times, it's a great time to buy used. You might not get it tomorrow, and you might have to compromise a bit on color/style, but it won't break the budget either. And the really fabulous thing about used is, if you hate it next year, you can resell it for about what you paid for it. If the really dire predictions bear out, and the Ashley mechanisms don't work in a year, you'll only be out a couple of hundred dollars, learned a valuable lesson, and paid about $15 dollars a month for the joy of having something to sit on. It's very easy to clean leather so there is no 'yuk' factor to used. It's something you ought to consider....See MoreSofa Help!!! Lane vs. Best Home Furnishings
Comments (3)Well, it sounds like they are both good quality. So it comes down to the look, feel, and price of the sofas. You may first want to check and see if the price of the Best sofa + Power is going to be comparable to the Lane sofa on price + features. Then you will want to see if it comes in the material and color you want. It looks like Lane has more options....See MoreNatuzzi Editions Sofa from Raymour & Flanigan?
Comments (7)Not sure if you're still looking, but i've owned one of these for two years and have two kids. Great couch for the price, and the leather has lasted well. As expected, the seats were firm when it arrived, but break in well over time. The seats only seem to sag if you dont spread the weight around while breaking it in...not bad construction, just worn cushion arra vs. not worn. The leather will stretch and look "wrinkled" - nothing terrible though. I do have strict rules for the kids - no school clothes on the couch, no jumping, no eating - and I'm sure that has helped. As for the "Paymour and Shenanigans" remark, I guess that poster is just a pushover. Bought furniture there multiple times (kitchen table, bedroom set, couch) and not only have I haggled well beyond the friends and family discount, but any issues that have come up were resolved quickly. Can't say the same about other furniture companies I've worked with. Caveat emptor doesn't apply here...it's a retail chain, not a garage sale. Overall, super comfortable for movie night, entertaining, and even falling asleep while watching tv. Get a lot of compliments on it....See MoreThomasville vs. Ethan Allen vs. Bassett
Comments (26)I too am looking at couches and my choice so far has been Ethan Allen. I have two matching Thomasville sofa’s in my den that are about 18 years old. Fabric is still great but the springs are now getting worn. My Living room has a four year old Thomasville and I absolutely hate it. I did not know they were sold When I bought and so regret it having paid what I did. I have replaced cushions and the back cushion twice already. The quality is terrible. Its not what used to be So I would definitely stay away. I can’t decide if I buy Ethan Allen or reupholster the den couches that I have loved and still do.. I have been told by reupholsters if its old Thomasville it is definitely worth re-doing....See MoreRelated Professionals
