I think for the SanDisk to work on Win98SE you will need to download a driver and install on the 98 machine. SanDisk Windows 98 Driver Windows Vista has the Easy Transfer Wizard, you can read more about it here As far as transfering from one computer, you'll need a RJ45 connector wire and plug it into the ethernet card on each computer. They do make a Easy Transfer Cable. This is a special USB cable that is designed to work with Windows Vista and Windows Easy Transfer and you just connect USB to USB. Programs usually don't work if you transfer them, they need to be installed from the CD or a setup.exe installer. If you're lucky, the programs may have the setup-installer inside the folder of the program. Who knows whether they will install on Vista because of there age. If they do install and not work, you may be able to right click the program icon and choose compatibly mode for Win98.

Thank you so much for your reply. Some of these plugins I know for sure were installed as you said. The problem is I have so many I would like to use (I'm talking about several hundred) that to try and find them all to download again would take weeks. The ideal thing would be for me to network both computers and share the folders I want.I have Verizon Fios with a wireless router But there are two problems with that 1- I have no idea how to do that and 2- my desktop that has everything I want is Win XP 32 bit. the laptop is Vista 64 bit and I understand that it may not work. Open your 'My Documents' folder and also open the 'My Documents' folder in the win.old folder. Right click on the task bar and select 'show windows side by side'. It should then be easy to drag your files from the old folder into the new.

with only 2Gb of memory with windows7 Ultimate you may have issues, that is not much memory for that operating system at all. there is a great forum for windows 7 they have lots and lots of tutorials set up, I would highly recommend using that site. Windows 7 Forums there are ways to set up 7 to look more like xp so that the look may make it easier to adjust to. Make Windows 7 look like XP for many more like this here is the google search for you Make Windows 7 look like XP My prefered method to move my data from one pc to another is using a usb thumb drive just put what I want to transfer on the thumb drive then stick that in the new pc and load it to that machine. be sure you have your security programs up and running before connecting to the internet so you do not risk infection right off. The 2 free ones I would suggest are AVAST or Microsoft Security Essentials. Also install Malwarebytes free and update and run it weekly.
