Can any one help me to save my Lithops?

Currently my Lithops is splitting. I guess I just overwatered them, the parents leaves are starting to rot. But I wanna save this plant, as you can see from the pic, there are two babies coming from the fissure. I hope they won't be infected by the old leaves. I put them outdoor, pot them with pumice and cactus soil(yellow bag Go-miracle) and dress them with pebbles. I'm living in San Francisco Bay Area, the sunlight is not really strong.
So what can I do with my plants? and how I'm be able to save those babies Lithops? I hope the old leaves can just shriveled.
Thanks
