Those are 2 pairs of new leaves from mother fissure.

I think that is pretty much all you can do for that at this point, the soil sounds fine but still not enough inorganic material. Look into chicken grit and Turface to add into your mix, it would be a game changer. I think those babies might be okay, if you seize watering now for at least a months or two. The other guys look like they're not in need of a drink AT ALL anyway, and even if they do, you could try to water just around the ones that look thirsty. I use the droplet thing (forgot what it's called) to target them when I have to...

Usually after flowering (like yours), watering should be either seized or dramatically lessened already going into winter, so maybe that was the mistake you made here.

Good news is your other Lithops look fine so far. I stick with the rule of NEVER watering a turgid Lithops, and it has been working quite well so far, I only water when more than half of the Lithops in my pot are soft to touch or even start to wrinkle a bit, so that translates to every 2-3 weeks of light watering during the fall and probably even less in winter, once they start to regenerate.

I also have my Lithops in mix pot, so I understand the hardship of caring for them all... But they just look so cute and cool this way, couldn't resist. This photo was back in mid-September, but they basically look exactly the same right now half way through December, except that the L. lesliei is showing "some" sign of regeneration..

Now only I can do is waiting for the old leaves shriveled. 1. So how long it takes the old leaves to be dried out completely?? and be disappeared???

Because the old ones look so mushy. The skin part is gone. It left the wounds exposed. I afraid it's gonna get fungus or bugs. So worry about it.

I have another living stone set, they look like pretty much dormant. 2. I just wanna know how long for those ones split and regenerate ????I heard ppl said stop watering till the old leaves shriveled. I have 2 split rock pleiospilos nelii in my pot and a few Lithops. But their parent leaves are still very plump. Do you have any ideas? ;) ;) ;)

Thanks! I only started growing succulents this Spring, and got into mesembs in July :P

Can't really tell you how long it would take, since mine hasn't gone through regeneration yet, but I think usually it would take the whole winter to do so, so perhaps 3-4 months? Keep an eye on the mushy parts, if it is getting infested with bugs you have to act quick. I've only dealt with mealy bugs and usually using 50/50 rubbing alcohol X water spray to wipe it off or spray the plant would do.

I would wait for others to chime in on this, I don't know perhaps you could just remove the mushy part of the plant already so it doesn't spread...

Yeah I also have a split rock (pics to follow) the Royal Flush, when I got it I was adviced here not to pot them with Lithops since their watering regime is quite different. The Pleiospilos could get water any time of the year, while Lithops is usually kept dry in winter. However, you're on the right track about no watering when it is regenerating. Make sure they only have 2 pairs of leaves at maximum, and I would water only when it becomes quite soft to the touch as well, if it's hard and turgid then it is not in need of water.

Through these pics you can sort of see how "fast" the old leaves finally shriveled away to nothingness. And below was my watering regime for it:

July-August, normal watering of once every 10-14 days since it was getting ready for flower.

September-October, watering every 14-20 days since flower died off and plant is not doing much

November-December, ZERO watering so far since I saw the new little leaves saying hello, and it is looking happy so far.

Thanks Dave for sharing your nice experiences and pictures. I luv the one called Royal Flush. It has elegant red color. It really catches my heart. You are absolutely right, it should be no more water in the winter time till early spring, especially when it after flowering stop watering it. The new leaves are absorbing nutrients from the parent leaves. Also be careful, like you said split rock and Lithops have different water regime, but they still don't need too much water,otherwise, the parent leaves are becoming mushy and dead. I just got confused with my plants, some of them are still dormant, some of them just finished flowering. I just need to be careful, I've not watered since early OCT. I only watered once and just saw what happened. It has almost killed my plant. Now it have keep my eyes on it and finger cross.

Those pics just back to a few days ago what it looks like. I was happy for they just started regenerating. Some of leaves look very dry and a little bit wilted. Then I tried to water them.
