Reader's Paradise

do u know the title and author of this novel?

its a romance novel.. read in the 90s..about a girl who was sold to a brothel(?)..there was trained to be a prostitute/concubine.. she was to remain virgin so that they can sell her at a high price.. so later an Arabs royalty(?) wanted to buy her.. so while she was being shipped to Arab her ship sunk n she was brought to the shore.. she arrived at a land of a noble man. n he likes her.. but she didnt tell him that she is a prostitute/concubine.. they assumed her to be just a rich girl since she was dressed in expensive attire..the sypnosis might not be accurate but i think its smth like tis...

i would rly appreaciate ur help.. ^^

ps: everytinng with (?) means im not quite sure..lol

I haven't read it, but your description gave me enough information to find it in a google advanced search, using the words "romance novel," "Marcus," and, "widow." Pawprint - based solely on your user name, if you haven't read any of the Chet and Bernie Mysteries written by Spencer Quinn, they may be books you would enjoy. They are written in Chet's voice - he is a dog and Bernie is a private detective. Our dog seems to think exactly like Chet. You might also enjoy A Dog's Purpose, written by A. Bruce Cameron. It is being made into a movie that is supposed to be out in Jan. 2017. My favourite was The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. I loved the ending. Naturally nature will take its course but at least this book ended on a happy note. It was supposed to be made into a movie starring Patrick Dempsey but they couldn't get a director. Disney then bought the rights to the book and hired a director, but still no movie. Who knows if Patrick Dempsey would still be interested. At this point he could still play the character at the end of the book. Plus he has the "racing" credits.

Getting toward the end of GWTW and still enjoying the vivid portrayal of that time and place, but am very thankful that society's attitudes toward racial equality are different now than in the era portrayed. I recently listened to a very compelling nonfiction audiobook that shows positive moves in this area Gentle Giant of Dynamite Hill. It portrays Arthur Shores, who worked very hard to finance his law school education and who was one of the first black lawyers in Birmingham. He was involved in the civil rights movement and successfully pursued the rights of blacks through the court system. He persisted despite his family's fear when their home was bombed twice and, during this time, there was a bombing of a predominantly black-attended church in which several young girls died.

Thanks for the info ci. I expect you know that the royal family of the Netherlands also escaped to England for a time before settling in Ottawa. When they returned home they gave a gift of millions of tulip bulbs to the Canadian people of that city as a 'Thank you'. And during WW1 the Belgium royal family lived in London . . . and their daughter Princess Marie José became a pupil at the school I much later attended (as the nuns never failed to remind us) she went on to an 'arranged marriage' with Umberto of Italy and was queen for a few weeks before the Italians kicked him out. The Norwegian people still donate a huge Christmas tree each year which stands in London's Trafalgar Square in thanks for their time in England. I don't know of any book on the subject; it would be worth looking in to. Belgium Royals
