Me, too.

I would love to be included this year. I still have a stack of bookmarks from at least ten years ago, I wish I had written the names of people I got them from. I remember how wonderful it was getting Christmas mail with these inside, particulary since so very few people actually physically mail anything anymore. Emails are so convenient and cheap, but it still doesnt replace the written word. Kind of like how I feel about real books and ebooks!!
It will be great getting things other than bills...or advertisements.

Some of the bookmarks I have from you all, you might even remember..
1. Handstitched one with books and "I love to read" from Pat. I think she also sent a lavendar sachet in a heart form.
2. One from Aus, pics of wildlife from Kangaroo Island wildlife.
3. A Kathy Lewis watercolour bookmark from Lydney Gloucestershire.
4. Alcott Orchard House from Concord MA with a quote from Louisa May Alcott, 1873 "One must have both the dark and the light side to paint life truly."
5. Hand made one of a sail boat with the words "Smooth sails do not make skillful sailors" African proverb
6. Handmade with a Santa pic and the words "And the first tree of the greenwood was the holly."
7. Handmade on pink cardboard with a small print of Degas "The Dance Examination" Reminds of a book I read recently called, "The Painted Girls."
8. A NASA one from California with the theme: Satellite Observation of the Ocean.
9. From Cincinatti Ohio, with small pics of the Reds, Freedom Center and Tall Stacks boats.

10. Edgar Allen Poe caricature from Literary Luminaries.
11. Plastic coated one with one side showing Flowers of the Holy Land and the other, small pics of Via Dolorosa, All Nations Church, Garden of Gerthsemane and a Tomb.

Yes, please, count me in too. Thanks for doing this, Siobhan, it's so much fun to get something good in the mail!

After participating for several years I have so many bookmarks and love and appreciate them all. Whenever I read an actual book I just reach into the large pile of bookmarks and pull out one at random.

That is a long way of saying to count me in, too!

Janalyn, I've saved all those bookmarks, too, from about a decade ago. I treasure them, as so much work went into each. It's a lovely custom, but I doubt I'll have the time for the project this year.

Me too! I found a bookmark source on my travels this summer. I'm on the lookout all the time, specifically in anticipation of this event.

Janalyn, I think the one from the Holy Land would have been from me. My husband and I went there with a group from our church about a decade ago.

Thanks for putting names to some of them. It makes them more meaningful.
I went to the craft store (I am not a crafty person, so this was an adventure) and was amazed at the stuff they have there. It inspired me to make my own bookmarks this year; hopefully you won't all be receiving something only a mother could love... :)

Count me in, too. Janalyn, the Orchard House bookmark was from me. Not sure if I'll make them this year, or go on another literary pilgrimage.

You folks collecting and making bookmarks put me to shame. :) I just walk down the hall and grab a stack of bookmarks from the latest mission! I have it so easy, it's embarrassing!

Janalyn, so as you have probably guessed, the NASA bookmark came from me.

Actually I did :). I always check your reading lists because you and rosefolly have the greatest sci-fi and fantasy suggestions. I read most of the ones you picked up during your forced vacation except for the Enchantress one, which I'm getting from the library. It is being sent from a neighbouring library and is considered Young Adult. That doesnt put me off at all because some of the MOST EXCELLENT books are categorized that. Anyway, I'm young at heart.

Merryworld, now I can put your name on that bookmark, it's one of my fav ones, with a gold open book charm and and a real postage stamp on it of Louisa May Alcott. Thank you again. :)

Janalyn, I just read your list again and the watercolour one was from Vee - I have one too (and an Alcott one thanks merryworld, and a Holy Land one thanks Carolyn and more than one NASA one thanks donnamira *g*)
I have taken to writing the donor's name on each one as I open them, with the year.

Janalyn, I ran across a list of 50 Science Fiction & Fantasy Must-Read (was it here, I wonder?), and decided that since I'd already read half of them, I might as well work on the other half, and many of the books I'd read through my involuntary break came from that list.

Back on topic, missions launched this year were the LADEE moon mission and MAVEN, the Mars atmosphere mission. Hopefully one of those will have bookmarks available!

Donnamira, thanks for sharing that list, I've read many of the authors if not the specific books, and this gives me a lot of additional titles for the Get To Someday list :)

I do hope the LADEE and MAVEN missions have bookmarks, I have really liked the NASA ones you've sent in the past.

I am in... sorry I've been MIA lately... life has been crazy. Good, but crazy.

Artiste, every participant sends every other participant a bookmark. They can be of all kinds: free promotional ones, store-bought, hand-made or repurposed (for example postcards).

Since the exchange takes place around Christmas, they are usually accompanied by Christmas cards.
