Have you guys read any books by this author? I love her!

I know from reading the posts here that many of you are like me, you like historical fiction but hate when historical FACTS are altered. I find Margaret Georges books fantastic for the reason that she does not twist things around. The cornerstones of her books are based on facts, and it is off of these facts that she writes the book. She weaves the fictional with the actual brilliantly. But what I like is that the fictional parts are not far-fetched, they connect well with the facts so that you believe that it might have happened that way. She did take some liberties I did not like, but her accuracy in the minute detail of historical facts made up for that.

I feel like her books have, as I like to call it, all the elements of a good, well-rounded book. Theres warfare, politics, historical accuracy, drama, romance (and steamy scenes!). It has a bit of everything to appeal to nearly everyone, but all of these 'elements' work in harmony to make a great book. I also find it amazing how she can make such long books interesting through out. She knows just when our interest is fading and when to add in something exciting.

So far I have read two and a half of her books.

The half was 'Mary Queen of Scots'. I found this particular book rather dull, so was taking a long time to read it. I was only halfway through when I had to return it to my lender. Maybe someday i'll try to re-read it.

I really liked her 'Helen of Troy' book. It might be a tad dull for those of you who are not really into Greek Mythology, but as I am I was facinated by it. She portrayed it so well, and was so careful to even preserve even mythological events! And even I, a girl, was delighted with the battle scenes.

But the best was her 'Memoirs of Cleopatra'. There are no words to describe how much I enjoyed it. She showed Cleopatra in such a realistic way, but still retained some of that mysterious aura about her. Ive done a good deal of reading on Cleopatra and Egypt before the Roman conquest and I can tell you that this book was dead on in the facts department.


If you have also read about these historical subjects you will see just how much of Georges books are based on historical facts. She put a lot of effort into the research for her books, which I really appreciate.

I have yet to read her other books, but am planning to in the near future. I belive she wrote one on King Henry the 8th and also one on Mary Magdalen.
