Totally unoriginal story

The Harvard student plagiarism hoopla has inspired a "steal this book" contest. The want a 750 word story that is entirely someone else's work -- but thoroughly cited.

I thought that might be a fresh approach for one of our stories. Anyone game? A phrase, a sentence, a paragraph from some published work to carry the story along. The only changes being perhaps of names to integrate the tale?

To start:

"My dearest, sweetest A. -- With what mingled joy and sorrow do I take up the pen to write to my dearest friend! Oh, what a change between today and yesterday! .... I will not tell you in what tears and sadness I passed the fatal night in which I separated from you."

Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray (letter from Becky Sharp to Amelia)
