My first thought on seeing the view from your front door was "Wow! Blue Sky."

Kath, lovely house, thanks for posting it. And as Vee said, it's so nice to see blue sky and sunshine during the dead of winter here in New England. Your dog is beautiful -- is it a Border Collie or Australian Shepherd? My Border Collie has similar coloring, but not those gorgeous eyes.

Lovely home and lovely dog! Thank you for sharing with us. You have inspired me to clear away at least enough junk so that I could actually take a photo in my home (although there is nothing photo-worthy here).

Great pictures, thank you for sharing. I agree with all the above, including the blue skies and beautiful dog. Switch the tall kitchen cupboard and the refrigerator around, and I would be looking at my son's kitchen!

The trees look so familiar. We have many eucalyptus trees here in California. I think they were imported by the author Jack London, who admired them.

I also really like the way you have hung your pictures. I've never seen that done before, and it is very clever.

Thank you for the kind words - I thought some of you might appreciate the blue sky. It was a beautiful day yesterday when I took the pictures, about 30°C and breezy.

Don't be silly, Kath. Of course, we want to be nosy and see your house. It's very nice, and the blue sky does indeed stand out! It is snowing again here right now.

My realtor took pictures of our former house while it still had the furniture in it in order to make a portfolio for its sale. It was amazing how pretty he made it look! Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner or any technical knowledge to be able to post photos.

Whisky is so pretty. I had a Siberian Husky with one blue eye and one brown.

rouan, Whisky was just listening to me - she is a very intelligent dog, and puts her head on the side like that a lot.
dedtired, the car is an Hyundai i30 diesel. We have had it for nearly a year, and it is a great car with fantastic fuel consumption - 5.8l/100km or about 50mpg (depending on whether you are talking about US gallons or UK/Aus ones).

My husband can take all credit for the garden - he did all the landscaping, has installed underground watering for the lawn as we are on water restrictions here, and has planted lots of interesting things. The big tree is a white sapote; it has an interesting fruit about the size of a small apple, green with a fragile skin, and a lovely vanilla taste. Unfortunately it is also quite slimy in texture and I can't bring myself to eat it! There is also an orange, a pineapple guava and a pistachio (which is off to the right and can't be seen), and that's just the front yard!

Here's a thought....wouldn't it be fun and so interesting to see other parts of the world/country/neighborhood through sharing a photo or two of our own homes?
I know I would love to see where you all are or what you like to do.

Here's the challenge: Take a photo of your home outside and one other photo of something inside or outside which you really like and that reflects something about yourself.

(or is that just the teacher in me giving out an assignment!????!!!! LOL)
