Well, I spend way too much time on the computer. Most nights I clock up a couple of hours between here, Facebook and three or four other discussion sites I go to, often checking from one to another without actually finding anything new to read.
I have no advice to help though....

WORDS with Friends-two of my opponents are my college-age son and law-school attending nephew...who both keep late hours. If I wake up in the middle of the night (ladies my age usually do) I have to check my phone to see if they sent me a word.

hehe-just scored a 79 point word on the young lawyer!

I just spend too darn much time on the computer.

From time to time I get hooked on a game or something else that wastes time but eventually I run out of time to waste and have to move on. That isn't to say that I still don't play games on a regular basis, just not around the clock. Wordsplosion is my latest one (I think that is the name) and for someone who loves words and is fairly good with crossword puzzles, I'm amazingly bad at Wordsplosion.

Me, too -- too much time on the computer. To make matters worse, I just got a new laptop so now I am on the computer even when I'm watching tv.

The only game I play is Solitaire. I've avoided the others because I don't want to get addicted, which I would. My son plays Words with Friends all the time. I am tired of looking at the top of his head while he stares at that darn ipod.

Sometimes I lie on the sofa with the laptop on my stomach and watch old movies and shows on Hulu. Sick.

Ever since I got my Fire I have also become hooked on words With Friends, followed closely by Angry Birds-my DD's laugh at me playing Angry Birds at my age !

Count me in as another one who spends waaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on the computer. It's just so easy to hop from site to site and blissfully ignore all the stuff I should be doing. And if I'm on a roll with Ancestry.com I can easily spend five or six hours online (and I have). Pizza on speed-dial, anyone?

Spider Solitaire! I kid myself it keeps my few remaining brain cells in trim. And I shall overcome it by giving it up for Lent. Ask me at Easter how I got on. :-)
I don't bother with Facebook, nor do I have a mobile phone, blackberry, ipod or any of the other modern electronic gadgets without which the world might cease to turn.
Sheri, re Ancestry. I have the UK 'edition' and have used it quite a bit, if only to get my monies/money's worth, as it is very expensive. Rather peeved off with it as the UK 1911 census has yet to become fully available. Over here we have to wait one hundred years before this info comes into the public domain.
If any US RP'ers need British info I would be happy to look it up for them.

I gave up Words with Friends when it wouldn't let me have 'hoon' but let my son have some silly made up word.

I used to play a lot of Spider Solitaire and Minesweeper, but now I use a Macbook and I don't have them on here. I do like a logic game called Einstein, but I don't spend too much time on it.

Even before computers were invented, I've always been an "information junkie." I worked in libraries and historical societies most of my life and had to be good at gathering information. My parents were the same, so with me, it is genetic.

I can recall when the internet first came up, I literally spent hours and hours browsing upon topic of interest, printing out words to my favorite songs, reseaching my family history, printing out art works, etc.

Now, I spend at least 2 hours per day on various chatrooms, forums and keep in touch with friends via Facebook and e-mail, far and wide. It's way too much time spent just sitting but I don't know how to break the addiction to collecting information and passing it on.

I do not have an I-Pod, Cell Phone, Kindle, Blackberry, etc. and I do not play games, thankfully.

Count me as another "info junkie" and one who now spends way too much free time (like right now) on electronic devices. When the Ellis Island site became active, I spent hours upon hours there alone but did find records for my family coming from Poland and the then Galicia.

Mr. B gifted me with a Kindle touch yesterday so I foresee some more electronic tinkering going on. You Kindle owners, how do I browse the free stuff available for Kindle?

I confess that I fritter away far too much time on YouTube. I am sure this is time which could be spent doing something much more useful.

Yes, I pretty much lost a whole day to YouTube a couple of days ago. I was getting my music video fix.

Fun! I won't do that again for a while, though.

Oh yeah...youtube...another time-sucker. I too spent an entire evening there recently. I love it.

I am doing better with the freecell, although vee has reminded me that I also like spider solitaire...must put that out of my mind...

I forgot to mention that on the computer I play Spider Solitiare every morning & I used to play scrabble every day too, but since getting my Fire I play less on the cmputer!

Thank you Pat. I followed your directions and downloaded The Jungle. Still trying to find the "thousands of free books" as advertised on my phone's Kindle app. On the other hand, I also put Threadwords on my Kindle; I'm afraid to even look at freecell.

If I start, I can easily spend a couple of hours on either Spider solitaire or Free Cell, especially if I'm listening to an audiobook while playing.

If you like Freecell, here's a little challenge. As you know, the game "finishes itself" by running all the cards onto the ace piles automatically. Have aook at deal 9993 (on the original Microsoft game). It is possible to get this completely out without ever playing up a card to the ace piles until the very end - that is, you play the last card from one column to another, and all 52 cards run up automatically to the top.

It truly can be done - I've managed it. Took a long time.
