Sharon, that looks very similar to what we call crooknecked squash except that I don't see a crook (bend) in the necks. I like zucchini but I prefer the crookneck squash - we have some bearing in our garden now. The flavor is delicate and almost buttery. Dinner the night before last was that and some carrots steamed with some chedder cheese grated on top and a slice of the cinnamon walnut raisin bread I made for dessert. Yes, the brown beans for this recipe probably are the fava bean relative. Looking more closely at the picture, they have a little dark mark at the end like fava beans.

mdln For $50M, I'd want a lake and park view, not this unimpressive residential neighborhood. ******************************************************** This area is becoming like the Upper East Side of NYC - with it'swealth Anglophilia Oh my! They must have bought half of Lincoln Park just to build it! I haven't been to Lincoln Park in years, but I remember it as a neighborhood of older, modest houses and apartments. Clearly, things have changed! Bet owners are in deep financial trouble. A house like this belongs on the North Shore - Kenilworth or Lake Forest. Perhaps a consulate. ******************************************************** If you think back, some of the grandest homes from the Gilded Age in the US were on city lots or blocks. This area is the new Prairie Ave of Chicago Vanderbilt mansion on 5th Ave in NYC' BTW, Prairie Ave, south of downtown/the Loop, was once the street of Chicago's riches with names like Phillip Armour(meat), Marshall Field(store), George Pullman(train cars), Potter Palmer(hotel) Also, this isn't quite the part of LP you're thinking of, this area is at the southwestern edge of LP - not too many yrs ago, this area was pretty crime ridden - a place you wouldn't want to walk around alone at night. Old LP still has most of its old charm Prairie Ave late 1800's Marshall Field's home Georg Pullman's home Glessner Hse

gardengal, I just highlighted your screen name, (which does turn the print from black to green for me) but when I have to right click on my mouse to copy and paste, it copies and pastes this, https://www.gardenweb.com/user/gardengal48 rather than gardengal48 (PNW Z8/9) [which I just typed in manually.] I'm clearly still doing something wrong, but thanks for trying to help me anyway. When I visit my DD I'll ask to her show me what I'm doing wrong, lol.

Thanks again! Lily, the purples are some of my favorites too. You were my inspiration for Violet’s Pride, I never thought mine looked as good as yours, but I like it and think it is a good rose. Maybe next year it will be prettier. I like the paler blooms on Crazy Love better too. This one began in a pot, and at the time I thought it was Mellow Yellow because that’s what I had ordered and that was what the label said. Of course when it began blooming it was obvious it wasn’t. I posted a picture on here for ID, and someone was pretty certain it was CRAZY LOVE, and after I looked on Palatine’s website I decided it must be, because it came closer than any of their other roses, that’s where I ordered it from. It was very vigorous last year, I decided it belonged in the ground. This picture is from 2017. On Palatine’s website it’s listed as a shrub. Another picture from 2018
