What are brown beans? British to American translation needed

I have a recipe that I want to make that calls for brown beans. I can't tell from the picture which specific type of beans they mean. It is for an Egyptian brown bean salad so perhaps the recipe origin gives a clue about candidates for the beans.

The publisher address at the front of the book is in London and eggplant in the recipes appears as aubergine (eggplant) so this is probably a British to American translation issue. I thought my British vocab was pretty good but this one has stumped me.

BTW, this weekend I was looking at a recipe on the internet that called for "marrow". From the recipe context it was pretty clear that they meant vegetable marrow aka zucchini bit the website highlighted it and clicking on the link brought up a definition for bone marrow which would have been pretty strange in that recipe especially since you were suppose to peel and seed it.
