I am sorry to hear about your problem.
Are the seedlings very tall? If yes then it could be not enough light.
Moving them to a lighter spot, i.e. your greenhouse, might give them the light they need, and save you having to sow more seed.
The greenhouse temperature should not be to much of a problem, at this time of year, if weather is favourable in your area.
I hope your seedlings recover, and you don't have to start all over again.

Seedlings need a balance of the right amount of warmth and light combined, if as you say you have them inside the house, even in a south facing window, it may seem bright to you but light levels will be very low and as you'll have the room nice and warm thats what has caused the leggy growth.
I'd put some fresh seed in, grown on in the cooler brighter conditions of your grennhouse theyll soon be doing better than the ones that have gone leggy anyway.

thanks for you both, sending husband first thing in the morning to get new greenhouse!!! i'll move my seedlings in the greenhouse and seed again the flowers. i now know that most of allotment holders in my area sow their veg. direct, so i'll be doing the same and maybe try a few of my indoor seedlings. oh well it's all part of learning, i'll know for next year.

I always use Murphys Sequestrone, available from most garden centres, to prevent damping off. I use Jiffy Pellets for my mainly tomato seed, and give them a good soak before planting any seed. Also use propagator. So afr, so good. My seeds are also tending to be a bit leggy, but this is usually down to lack of light. A friend suggested I use a mirror to reflect light when I am growing my seed. Hope this will help a bit.

Just thought you might want to check out the wintersowing-forum.
We sow our seeds outside, but in different containers. So we get the benifits of direct sowing, but dont have to share our seeds with critters or have them washed away by rain.
There are some very nice and helpful ppl there, so ask any questions you might have.
