Jo - I tend to get my order shipped to me from Naylor Creek in the middle of March and I have been successful potting them up when they arrive, keeping inside and hardening them off outside when the weather gets warmer. I have also done mail order within Ontario...most recently at the beginning of July from Budd Gardens. The plants arrived within 2 business days using regular Canada Post mail. The plants always arrive in great condition if packaged properly. Michelle - yes, if you place an order you would have to pay for the phytosanitary certificate unless you have friends that would join in on your order...in which case you can split the phyto and shipping costs with them. It's cost effective for larger orders and collector's looking for rare plants. If you are only getting a few plants then it's not financially worthwhile unless you are getting rare hostas on your wish list that you can't get anywhere else. Vanessa

faithann I agree with everyone above. I have been either buying seeds directly from Europe or having them brought back for me by friends for some time now. There are some really wonderful small seed producers with things you'll never find here. I haven't had any problems. If you're only buying tomato seeds, they're so light you can easily just mail them back to yourself. A friend who went skiing in Switzerland a few years ago brought back tomato seeds that I have really enjoyed growing from a company called Mauser. You can now get seeds directly from some companies in Europe over the internet. I wonder if it's getting easier for them. Two of my favorites are Le Biau Germe and Kokopelli (terredesemces.com), both on France. I buy beans, lettuce, etc. and the packages are marked with the names of the seeds and something like "garden seeds". Tomatsidan.se is a small company in Sweden that has some really interesting tomato varieties, particularly short-season types and lots from Eastern Europe and Russia. Some of these have become my favorites. Michael Anderson who runs it has charged me two dollars for each variety and just sends them in an envelope as you would a letter. As far as Italy, you can buy a huge variety of seeds directly from growitalian.com and italianseedandtool.com. I'll be curious to hear about what interesting varieties you find in your travels. Click the helpful link at the end of my post. The Wolf range you chose is a Dual Fuel and runs off 208-240 Volts (scroll down the left column once you open the link). If Australia is 50HZ like Europe is, then you will have a problem with the clock and any timers. It is also "Possible" that the cooling fans within the range are rated for 60 Hz only at at the very least would run slower at 50HZ. You would unfortunately have to get that info from Wolf. Most all US Fridges run off 120 volts, so you would at the very least need a step down transformer 240 to 120 volts and pretty large capacity too (amps or Watts). Again you could run into problems with the slower line frequency with the compressors motors & fan motors unless they are rated 50/60HZ. Unfortunately Wolf/SZ keeps such a "Tight lid" on the technical info about their products that they are probably the only source for this info alto you can try Goggling SZ compressor + model of fridge, and also do the same for evaporator fans, etc etc. Sorry, it looks like this could be a bit of a PITA! I think you are just "hollering Wolf Again" deeageaux. Your timing is a bit off too. Here is the "latest News". $190 million facility to begin production in 2012 On Wednesday, December 15, 2010, Electrolux, announced that it has selected Memphis, TN, as the location of its new North American Cooking Products manufacturing center. Electrolux plans to begin transitioning production to the newly built, 700,000 square foot facility in mid-2012 and the process is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2013. The new facility will assume the manufacturing currently located in L�Assomption, Quebec, the wind-down of which Electrolux announced on December 14th. The plant will build the company�s Electrolux �, Electrolux ICON � and Frigidaire � built-in and specialty cooking products. These include: Drop-in/Slide-in Ranges, Wall Ovens, Specialty Freestanding Ranges, and Cooktops. So yes, It will be 2013 before the transistion is "Complete", but jobs in Memphis should start appearing in about 6 months. I think it's great more jobs (courtesy of the Swedes) are coming to the US, rather than leaving! I still feel guilty about helping a huge "Well known" faucet maker move to Mexico, My employees and I had to move the equipment from their old facility in California and set up in the new lab in Mexico!!!---but I guess if I didn't somebody else would have---what really bugs me is the price of their faucets didnt even drop a penny after the move GRRRRRR GRRReeeeddddd!!! So, just one more reason to say "Go Electrolux" and quit hollerin Wolf (LOL). Gary
