I've never taken formal gardening classes altho gardening has been a lifelong passion for well over 60 years and I've read a lot of books and magazines, picked a few brains, and more recently found so much info online. I used to want to do the Master Gardeners' course but it's not offered here in this backwoods area. I don't think it would benefit me much at this stage of my gardening life anyhow and I have so many other interests that take my time. I'm hoping to get my friends more excited about gardening, too Do you have a Garden Club in your area? IMO it can be a great learning experience for anyone, and especially for beginner gardeners. It might be a way to interest your friends if you all went together. Also for me was a good source of plants as everyone would freely give their extras. When we moved here from warmer zones it was a great help to me to learn which plants grew well here. Connecting with like-minded people is also great. I've finally gotten the solution to the deer problem and that is 7' tall fencing around my main garden. Nothing else worked well for me. As far as the yellow jackets I've never heard of anything that gets them in a 'better mood' LOL but seldom have a problem here. However I'm learning to place those plants that bees love away from my patio. Hated sitting there and having all that buzzing going on and wondering if I'd get stung.

Our HS has the 10th graders take PSAT, jrs take it again in the fall (just this week), I think they take the SAT in the spring and then in the fall again as seniors. I only took the SAT once (IIRC, as a fall senior). I thought aid and admissions were based on that? Why would colleges decide aid based on PSAT when SAT scores are available to them? But DH says the SAT has multiple tests now, not just math and writing? I guess I have to get up to date on this. Edit: I just looked at the SAT site, there are subject tests in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics that DS may take (well, maybe not Bio, but Chem this year and Physics next). I'm still not sure about Math I and Math II - the standard math section on the SAT must not cover much since the Math I looks to me to cover what I remember taking in HS, Math II is maybe more of what I took in college, though I did take UCONN Calculus in HS, I didn't get to prob & stats until college. DS will have to look at the examples to see which one to take. Since he plans on studying engineering I think at least the Math I test would be recommended (if not required) by the schools he's considering (the website can provide info on that too). But I remember that I didn't finish the math section of the SAT way back when, even if it didn't cover the more advanced trig and such. hello There are many colleges which providing online Nursing classes.courses are as:RN programs,LVN programs etc.with these classes we can only learn lessons but for practical we have to go for clinincal classes. Now nursing phd programs are also available online. Thanks
