Olive trees in front yard?

We were thinking of planting an Olive tree as a feature tree on our front yard surrounded by natives.

Our yard is rectangular in shape and would be about 50m2, it slopes down toward the house 30 degrees.

We like the look of the olive tree and its resilience in varied climates- we are in West Australia and our soil is clay - we live in the hills.

Would an olive tree be suitable for a front yard? I heard the roots don't grow very deep? Only thing I'm worried about is the height of the tree which might reach 6-7m? Are they pruneable to reduce height?
