Another Thunderstorm Has Just Passed

At long last I think this storm has finally stopped we even got a bit of hail, I have had to get off this computer

so many times today, just in case well you never know with lightening and it is connected to the phone line.

More of my wet flowers.................................Cheers...MM.

White Frangipani: The Perfume was very noticeable this morning with the Sun on the flowers.

Love that calliandra, good looking flowers, I have managed to keep a frangipani alive so hope for flower in the future..

Great photos MM. It doesn't look like the hail did too much damage.

I love the following story from an estate sale of my parents things a few years ago. My sister had priced this hand trowel at $2. Before a buyer was interested, I had yet to see it. Well, a possible buyer brought this shovel to me and asked if I would take .25 cents for it. I was shocked...this thing had never been used! Plus, I could tell that it was an oldie, but goodie. The stamped label was clear and crisp. I couldn't believe that my sister had only $2 on it. I would have put $5 on it. I pointed all this out to the buyer, and stood firm on the price. Well..... The woman kept the shovel and then walked up to my sister and asked the same thing...25 cents? Before my sister could answer, I walked up, grabbed it out of the woman's hands and turned to my sister and said..."I think I will keep this. I'll give you $2." The look on that woman's face was priceless! I know it was tacky of me, but she made me so darn mad. This shovel has indeed been an "oldie, but goodie." The label is now worn, so I cannot read the maker, but it is sturdy and sure brings back memories of that garage sale day. Our sale went pretty well. What we didn't keep or sell, went to Habitat for Humanity. Another thing that I could not get over was the stealing, or trying to steal of items.

Many thanks to each and every one of you for your kind thoughts and prayers. Bob has been in bad health for a long time, but his death caught us off guard. I'm just grateful it happened fast for him. like my beloved and first cat, clyde...he and his sister bonnie were my companions thru a divorce, remarriage, and birth of my 4 kids...he was nearly 22, when I knew he needed to finally sleep...my darling dd took him to the vet for me...then there was the posse....3 kitties of a stray mom...they were my main stay thru graduations, 2 bouts of cancer, and marriages and the beginning of the grands...one was lost to ? but the other 2 made it to 15, before they had problems and needed to join clyde. now i'm catless, sigh and still crave the companionship...all I have these days is dh, lol...and while we've had 45 years, he still doesn't purr, or is unconditional.... you're so very lucky to have found another kitty to love and be loved...monkey approves...

Beautiful flowers. Calliandra flowers definitely don't like the rain do they? Love the day lily and the frangi is such a clear white, the roses are pretty too.

At least you're getting some rain. I do the same as you when it come to lightning, especially after having lightning hit the pergola a couple of years ago. I had forgotten to unplug an extension cord that comes through the kitchen window from a light and the lightning blew the power point of the wall - landed about 1m away. Luckily that was the only damage - except to our nerves when thunder is around.

Good old Frangipanni,smell it from here,the carpet roses are very appealling MM will have to find some room for them though,very lovely photos,greencroc.

Lovely as per usual MM.
I was sitting at my computer when a flash of lighting struck not far from here and a great spark flew out of my fax machine. It blew up the ADSL filter on the machine, but luckily no other damage was done, my computer runs through a UPS anyway, so it should be safe. However 3 of my nighbours across the road have lost their phone systems.
Gave me a terrible fright I can tell you

Heather yes the Calliandra is a pretty flower, mine is seeding like crazy I pull up so many thank goodness its easy with the wet soil.

Heather B They dont look this good now..I took these pics in the morning before the storm there was no way I was going out there, its was terrible, violent noisy scarey and hailstones hurt..

Goldhills and Barbara yes its terrible what Lightening does when I lived in Melbourne the peak of our house was struck, it took a fair bit of the roof off and made a shocking mess of the house where the water came in. So you two can understand why I feel this way and you are right it is bad on the nerves.

Greencroc yes you certainly need room for the carpet roses I have to move them next winter as they are a lot more than the one metre wide they are supposed to grow, that one is turning into giant octopus long arms everywhere...Cheers..MM.
