Got the bottle and fully read the instructions. Over-the-top on shrubs is about a 4x concentrate than what you use on bermuda in turf. If you are using it on turf, 0.14oz (1 tsp) per gallon is the rate, that might be close to 10 drops.

Janet definitely knows what she's talking about :) I planted & grew asaparagus quite a few years ago. The patch always did very well while under my care for many years. I used to sprinkle salt on the patch every year - heard that it helped keep the weeds down & the asparagus liked it. It sure didn't seem to hurt it!!! Anyway, after divorcing, the ex did not take care of it too well and mowed it down all the time, so the patch basically no longer exists. There's still some spindley stuff that comes up, but nothing worth cutting. Boy was that some good eating, though :~) Funny thing, but everytime I would cut it, my Beagle would walk along with me & eat the scraps (the tough ends I would snip off as I cut). Who would think that a dog would like raw asparagus!!! But then Beagles like many veggies - she also liked green beans, cucumbers & sweet corn straight from the garden. She picked her own sweet corn - she'd walk down the row & smell each ear until she found the one she wanted. Then she'd take it into the yard and holding it with her front paws, she'd shuck it with her teeth. Then she'd start eating & she could clean that cob off better than any person - wouldn't leave one single kernel :) Back to the subject, I'd say your asparagus just needs a little TLC. Tammy

Annabel,you are in a hurry and as Lozza said, it takes time. The only other way if you are IMPATIENT, check with Lozza, but I have found at work if we induce growth with water and spray on the emergence a good green regrowth that we have had a good kill. Up market soap will do, but if you can drive to a vineyard or orchard or maybe a large grower nursury, they (might sell you some) will have Agral (or like) and advise on rates . I feel that it is very important to check out exactly what people are using if you contract someone to do any spraying. We have a problem at work with weeds growing through a gravelled area (that white pea gravel - originally put down on black plastic). We paved a large area with bricks but some is still left gravelled, and the regular gardeners (or weeders) offered to spray it for me. "what would you use?" I asked. They have been in Australia for some 30 years but still have difficulties with the language, and general communications. They assured me they would use what the people used out at "the piggery". "No" I said "tell me exactly what it is called". They didn't know but no one at the piggery had complained. I ended up saying - no - forget it. We have close to 30 computer programmers working for us, some of them vegetarians, some health fanatics. In our situation, I felt even the use of roundup would be creating an issue for a few people. Using an unknown chemical agent would be just negligent, and certainly would be a health and safety issue. OK - that's in the work place. What could go wrong in your back yard with no one to sue you? Your dog or cat might just go out and have a good feed of grass, and end up with a case of poisoning. This was always a huge problem with organophosphate poisoning (insecticides) and I have seen and treated many dogs thus poisoned, and a lot die. (this is where my insistant pedancy comes in re glyphosate, which many people insist on calling glyphosphate, but it is NOT related to the organophosphates. An unfortunate naming, but the distinction is important). Now your dog is looking pretty sick and you are off to the vets, but you don't know what your gardener has sprayed. It's just something they used at the piggery and said it was OK. Maybe I get a bit het up about the use of poisons at times, but I come from the generation where the spray can of DDT used to be brought out at meal times and puffed about the kitchen to keep the flies off our plates. It was at that stage perfectly safe. It only became unsafe (like smoking and asbestos) at a later date. Maybe the DDT messed with my brain?
