Mystery flower for Easter????

I had asked Jamus if he would like to post a picture on my behalf but he hasn't been on here for a few days. Perhaps someone else would like to have a go in the meantime. It would be a shame to see the game end. Anyone? First in.....

I admire your ambition. Sure you have enough room in a small greenhouse for thousands of bulbs? I guess you'll find out soon enough as your plan falls into place. (Obviously you know that you have to get a move on it as Easter approaches.... there's always mother's day I guess) Timing and temperature control will probably be your biggest issue, knowing the exact variety will help, darwin mixed or pastel mixed isn't really enough info, especially if you just grabbed a couple bags of bulbs at Costco or sam's. emerald1951 - Yeah, it's a bit yellow. More and more sunlight is hitting the plant as the weeks pass since the sun is getting ready for summer. hehe. I have to put it in a more shady area pretty soon. ltecato - Yikes. I'm sorry to hear that. :\ I hope the buds open for you soon. puglvr1 - Adorable pug! ;) Awesome plant there. I don't have that kind of luck around here. The plant should bloom every year. From what I understand, nurseries jam them full of fertilizer so that they'll bloom this year and the next, but fertilizing is up to you from then on? I don't know. I fertilize my easter cactus to make sure the blooms come. If/when they finally open, I'll definitely post a picture :D

ok, So I think I will move it to the south window during the day, I sure hope it wont lose too many buds. Some buds are blooming size, but others are still small Here is a photo, What do you think? do you think it will lose all the small buds even if I place the cactus in the same posion as the old spot? Once I moved the cactus to the south window with sun, the flower really started to open. I also noticed most photos with easter cactus blooming, they are placed outside. I believe I asked the same question about my Thanksgiving cactus and I was told to leave them. I wouldn't worry about it too much, they will eventually fall off :-) I still have one on mine.

Let's close this thread. The plant is Morisia monanthos (syn. M. hypogea)and is found in SW Europe. Forms a rosette and may only be a few cm tall. Monotypic genus.
