This is inside the Salty Dawg Saloon in Homer, Alaska which I posted yesterday.
Those are dollar bills all over the walls, each with a message written on them from world travelers.
There is a cup of black, fat-tipped Sharpie pens and a cup of thumbtacks at the bar to complete the task.

Susan, I'll post a closeup of my dollar bill tomorrow. I have no idea how they could possibly clean that place. DH and I had dinner this last Sunday night at a place that had every square inch of the walls and ceilings covered in neck ties that had been cut off patrons, 12,689 in all. That too seemed like a challenge to dust.

I forgot to mention when I posted today's photo that while visiting the Salty Dawg, I struck up a conversation with an a gal sitting next to me at the bar. She was an Alaskan Inupiat native which is the same tribe my ancestors are from. It was fascinating to me to speak face to face with a native.

I say face to face only because a couple years ago a distant relative found my Alaskan heritage web site and contacted me, to which I replied. Because my phone number is at the end of my emails, he and his wife surprised me with a call. We chatted for quite some time and I loved to hear the thick native tongue they spoke in.

Jodi, There was a place in Ft. Myers very much like the Salty Dowg with the dollars all over the walls plus license plates from all over the world on the ceiling...Well, a year or so ago, they were forced to close because of fire hazard...I loved going there when we were in Fr. Myers....
