While it's a long shot Marcia, it could be a 'Pardon Me' daylily. Looks a lot like the one I had! In sunlight and in drier places the crimson wasn't all that red. In shade and well watered it was a deep, dark beautiful red, much like your photo.

gazania....I grow hyperion...it's a lighter yellow.., I took this with a flash...it's a deep ....deep butter yellow.... I used to go to the Daylily society sales every year....also 24 years ago someone got rid of their kwanzo patch, filled my truck bed to the rim! :0) Yours is VERY pretty!

Gazania, all my day lilies have come and gone already. I think some were eaten by the deer, but the others didn't seem to last very long. I've never dug them up and divided them. Do you think that makes any difference?? All the pictures are so good today. I always look forward to seeing them. Today I am putting up some pictures of statues of horses from the Horse Park in Lexington, KY during the World Equestrian Games back in 2010.

That is the place where it happened. The animal had climbed up a tree within the enclosure, and worked itself to another tree and then just dropped in with the visitors. So got freaked, and others took photos. The animal was tranquilized and returned to the enclosure. I really hope it happens again, it will really increase attendance.
