Comments (9)Jim, I LOVE city parks like that. Stopped at many on my long bike rides, to eat a snack, or a sandwich lunch. I find it nice, to have such facilities in a town. Moni...See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Thurs July 29
Comments (11)This is Crimson Stella my longest and most prolific bloomer. Introduced by Lowes, 7 maybe 8 years ago .The 'Ruby Stella' may be the same daylily. There was a lot of talk among daylily officialdom as to who was who at the time. I love it. As you see, the foliage gets pretty ratty as usual this time of year, but it flowers on and on....See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Wed June 29
Comments (24)I am in the room and can hear you all, y'know? I did not kill the snake. I was taking a walk and came across it, quite dead in the road. I didn't know what kind of snake it was so I took a pic hoping to identify it. I did. It was an Eastern Milk Snake. It was quite lovely with almost iridescent metallic copper tones in it's pattern. I'm glad some are willing to rescue wounded animals, but I assure you, this poor snake was quite beyond rescue by the time I found him. Most likely it won't be there by tomorrow a.m. as some scavenger will enjoy recycling it. So it will exist only in its current state for a short time, and captured on camera. I was sorry to see it killed, glad it died so quickly as opposed to in terror as most animals die, and glad that I was able to see it as it's probably the only way I'd ever get the chance. In all my years of walking, it's rare for me to come across any snake. I'm sorry some of you find this image of death upsetting. Sometimes images, like life, can be upsetting. (Yesterday I posted a picture of a weed with a dead blossom which didn't seem to provoke the same reaction.) Death happens. IAC, the image was not to celebrate the death, but the beauty of what once was and the chance I had to see it....See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Sat July 29
Comments (13)Today is an absolutely gorgeous day for a drive so we did. We packed a lunch and headed to beach country. Not to sit on the beach, but wander the town. We did drive along the beach and there wasn't a soul in the water, I guess it's too cold. We did fill up on gas, too. It was 15c/litre cheaper than at home when we left. It was 1.13/litre at home and 97.8c/litre in Goderich. Here's hubby in the park in front of the courthouse. The shops are in a circle around the courthouse. And the water was sparkling blue, with no one in it....See Morejim_1 (Zone 5B)
