And that's all done by mother nature...just a bit too early!
I'm surprised that you still have power lines in the front yard.

This came down as a heavy wet snow with the largest snowflakes I have ever seen, some of them were as big as a quarter and the moment they landed on something they stuck in place...

The snow started falling about 3:30pm and here is a shot I took out the kitchen window at 4:30, one hour into the storm,,,

At 8am the next morning I went out to assess the situation and shot a few pics...

I have never seen snow fillin the gaps in a chain link fence before.

WE are very fortunate in this community because we have a private municipally owned electrical utility company and those guys are wizards at keeping it up and running.

We have had two tornados, the earthquake, a terrible thunderstorm that produced 150mph wind shears that caused tornado like damage and now this snow storm, all within 5 months yet we have not had any serious problems with electric. During the snow storm we had three power glitches, the longest of which only lasted 30 seconds.

Today our power was out for about 1 hour because they had to turn it off to cut downed limbs off the wires.

By contrast, there are about 5 commnunities surrounding us that have been without power since Saturday, and one town says it may be next Saturday before they can get it on again.

What sweet pictures and GREAT costumes! I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!! INSPIRING!!!! Here are pictures of our 2 little ones in their costumes. My wife Carol made the jack-o-lantern costume. Our youngest daughter wore her older sister's graduation gown because she said it was like the gown worn in High School Musical, her favorite movie! The one picture was taken at her school Halloween carnival. The other is at our town trick-or-treating event. The town closes off all of it's main roads the Saturday afternoon before Halloween. The businesses come out and give out treats to the trick-or-treaters. It's like a scene out of a Norman Rockwell painting with horse carriage rides and lots of events. Enjoy! WOW! Thanks for all of your nice comments. I decorate for Halloween for our own kids. Living out in the woods, we usually get only 5 trick-or-treaters, and they all come at once in the same car! Our neighbors... :o) Jan, we picked out a house design, and then tweaked it. We really wanted a country porch, dormers, and lots of windows. (We love watching the widlife from the windows.) Susie, I used GEII after painting the BB copper. I'm working on another one right now as a Christmas gift for a friend. Jan, those pumpkins are metal. Bought them at JoAnn's Fabrics. We love rustic furniture. Just like my twig fence and arbor, I now make twig furniture. Now you know why I sign everything "Bear Hugs". I love bears and even live on Bear Creek in an area called Bear Creek Crossing. My fourth graders are known as The Grizzlies. I've attached an old post of mine, sharing some of my bears. I'm so glad Karen thought to share this on here. There are just so many wonderful blogs and fantastic ideas on the net! I've been looking at a few of the local stores this past week. I love seeing all the neat displays. Home Goods dishes just make me drool and they have lots of other Halloween things. Tai Pan Trading has the most wonderful displays. My fav was a HUGE realistic tree with a little house and a witch. One little boy was crying and pulling his Mommy away from it! When I go back, I'll take my camera and get a few pics to share on here. They had lots of the black/white signs like the ones on the blog. OA, make sure you go take a look, it's fun and a great place to get ideas. Makes me wish I had more storage and a TON of money! LOL Luvs

I had just finished posting to this and we had a power surge and lost all of it. So I'll try again. Karen, I'll keep you posted on Joe and the little Spooks. Thanks for your comments on the Ghost. OA, I've always decorated DGD swing set and play house for Christmas. This year I used it for Halloween too since it's easy access to power. Dream, thanks and glad you like Joe. The carving on him is amazing. Jeanne, thanks for all the sweet comments. We live at the bottom of the Mission Mtns. Those are hills in the scarecrow picture and are our view in the back. I'll show you a moutain shot we see from the front in June. They are beautiful most of the year. Lynn, thanks and if you want to come trick or treating now you're very Welcome. Our place is right next to the highway so we always try to light things up pretty well for the Holidays. We've done so much in the past and everyone has grown to expect it so we usually have most of the yard decorated. This year only the front and side. Frou, we generally get up to 150 little gobblins at our home. They have started doing Halloween parties at some of the Club Houses so it has cut back to 100 a couple years. DH grew up here and I came as a 1st grader so we're not stragers and most parents come in with their children just to say "Hi". your sweet comments on this post. Punk
