YL, yes, it is in Whiting Ranch about 10 miles from my home in Irvine. A place within Whiting called Red Rock Canyon. Nicole, yes, taken with my old camera which is working now that I've ordered my new Canon 60D. :-) I think it was so bitterly cold (~40 degrees LOL ... yes, we are all wimps out here, even our cameras) last Monday that my old camera just couldn't handle it. If that truly is the case, it won't do me a lot of good to go to parts of Southeast Asia next month where temps are going to be about the same. Jodi-

Several years ago I had an interest in "Ascii Art" and made some still images and a few "Ascii Animations" . On Friday I found an old email about a site that had a few of my animations posted, which I had long since lost. I spent the last couple of days getting the javascript working for the animations, and have them at the address below. Fantastic pictures today everybody!! Some irises I passed on my walk this morning.

Yesterday we had a big party at our house, for my 50th B-day. One of the dishes I made was oven roasted winter squash that grew in our garden. The plant looked like this: The squash was enormous -- the one I picked was 25 lbs! I peeled it and cubed it and roasted it I also made: crockpot BBQ pulled pork baby yukon gold potato salad cold cucumber yogurt soup fresh coleslaw madras curried lentils asian peanut miso noodles The party was a big success. I didn't get a good count of the people at the party, there were at least 55 people and the party went on until about 10:00 P.M.
