Hello, Well it's taking me a few days to get back to you. We have had thunderstorms here for the last couple of days and it finally cleared. This computer has been unpluged because of severe storms, so sorry I am late getting back to you. Randy: I tried CCleaner on one of my computers a few years back and for some reason it never downloaded right, so I decided not to try and install it again and removed what was there. Zep516:I think some of the problem with these 2 programs in particular is when they are updated they end up starting up again--yes another poorly written program. You are absolutely right there. The people who built this computer took out the icon and also took it out of startup and when I updated it the icon etc came back. I have no idea what they used to get Kodak EasyShare out of the startup program and remove the icon. QuickStart has always been there but I just right click on it and shut it down. I also do the same for Kodak EasyShare. DA: I have heard of WinPatrol but have never used it. I was pretty new here when these programs were brought up and I was afraid to try anything that I didn't understand. No ones fault, just mine and me being scared to try them. Winpatrol will want to be part of the startup too. So it also has to be disabled and then it will be an on-demand utility. After its inital use and any other future usage you will only have to close WP from the Notification Area by right-clicking on the icon. Aren't there any programs out there that doesn't want to be a part of startup? It seems to me that you are just trading one program for another that wants to go to startup. Am I correct in thinking this? Also, remember I stated disable not delete. Delete is permanent, disable is temporary. Got Ya! "Wink" Oh no, just went downstairs and part of my basement is flooded. Ravencajun, I have a question for you. I have my removable disk in and it won't let me safely remove it. The device generic volume cannot be stopped right now keeps coming up. I have my pictures on there and don't want to lose them. I use Ulead Photo Explorer to view them, I have been deleting extra copys on there. I did go to Task Manager and clicked applications and two things were running in there. 1.)Safely remove hardware icon gone in XP C 2.)Ulead Photo Explorer 8.0 F:\ Running. If I stop them will I lose my pictures? Please, could you give me advice on this problem. Thank you.

right when you plug something into your usb ports then it will pop up down in the systray. be sure you right click on that flash drive and let your AV scan it prior to running just in case it could have an infection, many are running into infections traveling on usb flash drives.

You can try pressing the Ctrl Key and the Alt Key, then press the UP Arrow. This should turn the Screen Upward. As you may have figured out, Pressing the Ctrl, Alt and Left Arrow will turn it to the left, Right Arrow to the Right and Down Arrow to the Downward position. If the above method doesn't work, you may be able to change it like I can in the method below (Both will work on my laptop): It depends upon the Video Card Usually. My Laptop I'm using right now has a Rotation Feature in the Display Options. I go to the Right Corner of the Taskbar where the Clock is located. You might see an Icon for your Video Card (mine is Intel). When I click on the Intel Icon I get a menu Graphic Properties, Graphic Options and Exit Tray appear. When I press Graphic Options I get a Menu with Hot Keys, Panel Fit, Resolution, Rotation, Balloon Notifications and Profiles. When I press Rotation I get the options to rotate 0 Degrees, 90 Degrees, 180 Degrees and 279 Degrees. It doesn't give me the option to Rotate Left or Right, you'll just need to figure it out from there. BTW, I do love Zep's solution about the Cat walking Backwards. Wish I could make my cat do anything! Zep is right the Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow should solve the problem!
