Oh My Gosh, I think someone needs to get some diet food!
If his girth is part of winter storage then we are in for a cold winter!

In years past, folks have mistaken our squirrels for ground hogs!! LOL
They get a strict diet of unsalted roasted p-nuts, and black oil sunflower seed--yuuummm!

Glo - Thanks for reassuring me! I hope your move is awesome! My husband has wanted to move us to Colorado for years and hasn't managed to quite convince me yet, although I think it's absolutely wonderful there. LOL So, Winter Solstice is the same everywhere? (LOL)... I guess you're seeing how little I know... Nancy - Thanks for the tip! I am gonna have to watch the lead hand myself as I way oversowed my cantaloupes this fall. The poor babies are fighting each other and giving me 2 to 5 inches fruits that don't look like they're EVER going to full ripen. I will be much more careful in the future. I'll try to not get TOO excited when I go to plant. LOL Carrie - Wow! That's some really good info. That's exactly the kind of thing I was worried about. I'm grateful for the heads up. Liz - LIZ!!! Hey, girl! Fancy meeting you here and there and now here! hee hee... The whole last paragraph of what you wrote is exactly what is concerning me. I know that I personally wear shorts through-out almost the whole winter except for those few crazy days that we see. 50's or what have you is not cold to me... We do get the occasional freeze, but then a week or two later at most you could have a 70+ degree high! All this in the same few days / weeks / months... it's SO crazy! Oh, and if they're having a plantswap around the 8th of December as well, I sure want to know as I'll be out that way. :-) Blessings, Angela

Thank you both for your feed back it's much appreciated. Beach barbie, I do move the trays regularly by default- my cat keeps drinking the water, even though she always has a fresh bowl available. And I do think it's a tropical variety. BTW I love your name, it creates a warm image. Watergal, I don't see any evidence of pests, but your comment concerned me so I sprayed the entire plant with insecticidal soap just to be sure. On the under side of the foliage I do see some VERY TINY white powder like specs that rub off with the finger, too small for aphids. Any idea what that may be? And am I on target for March to expect new buds. Thanks, Happy Valentines Day..

I have several and all of my family members have them too, being Cajun we eat a LOT of rice so having the rice cooker comes in very handy, and frees up one more burner and pot for all those big meals. Can I cook perfect rice with out it, I sure can so can all my family, it is one of the first things we learn LOL but do I love my rice cookers I sure do and use them almost daily. They do so many things besides cook rice, if you do a search for rice cooker cookbooks you will be amazed and they are good recipes. Most of the ones I now own are Aroma brand I also have a couple of the microwave type and like those too, they are especially handy for steaming veggies. but they work equally well at cooking rice. I appreciate technology and consider the rice cooker a nice step.

Very pretty, indeed. I love the fabric...It's great to know how to sew, you can save a ton of money and change things all the time! I have tons of fabrics as well...stored in big tubs that are stacked on top of one another in a large guest closet. It's a sickness. Next time I go to my wonderful fabric guys, I'm going to bring my camera. You won't believe how much fabric they have...they ship all over the world (not retail - wholesale)It's a fabric-holic dream... The place is huge...I went 2 weeks ago to look for my dining room chairs and went home with samples, but nothing was right. I'll have to go back another day, when I have more time to look. When I went, I said I wanted something for my dining room table to use for protection, so I don't have to use the pads all the time...He gave me a huge bolt of the stuff for free, He said here take it...They are so nice these two guys. They sell me stuff for 1/2 of what I pay in the fabric stores and give me extra too... :)

I wish I knew how to use the video recorder on my cell phone. He came waddling across the railing! I'll have to take the time to figure it out.

I have a squirrel that wants handouts. When he sees me he'll run up to the side deck and beg! Does yours beg for food?

They don't beg but one came in the house one day. I had the screen door to the deck open and there wasn't any food out there. He came in about 2 feet, looked around, saw one of my cats and took off!

hi all...

we put out unsalted in the shell peanuts here too....

the blue jays and squirrels go crazy after them and won't stop until the tray is empty...

hope the squirrels don't find my tulips when they are burying the peanuts...

What a funny picture! I have a problem with squirrels digging in all my flowerbeds. I have rocks in every pot and near every plant. They have started nibbling on the leaves. Maybe the secret is to feed them like your little fellow, and they will be too fat to bother the hostas. Your picture made my day.
