Trying this again...My HP Image Zone disappeared..????

I gives me an Error message that says to reinstall the .NET Framework. I don't even know what the .NET Framwork is.

PLUS...I let the update on my computer update and it has changed everything...I HATE IT>..that dumb tab stuff...I don't want it and I don't know know how to get rid of it. It is Internet Explorer 7. Will I get used to it and learn to like it or what...Changes upset me.

Oh...and it changed my font...I don't remember how I changed my font to Comic sans but that is what I want.

Patti, have you tried a Restart? That will often cure a multitude of sins!

You must have been upgraded to IE7. Give it a chance. I love the tabbed browsing now, but it did take a bit to get used to.

Here is how to change your font (I love Comic Sans also!)

At the top of the IE7 browser, select TOOLS->INTERNET OPTIONS->GENERAL tab. At the bottom where is says APPEARANCE, select FONT. There you can change back to Comic Sans. Select apply after selecting Comic Sans, the OK if prompted too.

Can you post the exact NET Framework error? You might try going to the HP Website to see if there are any updates for your printer/HP Zone software.

Old thread, let us fast forward to update it: Briggs now intentionally makes plastic carb throwaway small engines called Briggs EXi or "Just check and add oil" engines... No small Briggs for push/self propelled mowers have an iron sleeve now, not even Pro model engines have it anymore.. According to Briggs site there is none being built today, what iron sleeved engines left on the shelves is all there is left!! Pro 850 was the last to have it. All Kohler engines are made China. Briggs Vanguards are made in China. Kohler's head gaskets still fail (fixing my sons 3 yr old cub now) & also suffer oil seal leaks from poor machining today, all are made from cheap grade materials in China and won't last long anymore! Very soft aluminum & plastic abounds them. Regardless where anything is built it's made by people who never even knew nor do they care about our American pride or our history of quality or about the products longevity! Anyone 30yrs old and under today simply grew up replacing products not repairing them unless they were dirt poor like I was and always tried repairing first but hey it was the 60's and everything had nuts/bolts/screws then and was steel. So why would today's engines have so many problems only after a few yrs running when they once ran for many decades without majors? Well' it's called "Planned Obsolescence" and its a fact most corps have now adopted this. Google it to really understand it well if you never heard of it, you'll be so thrilled. So everytime I read about engines online I'm really glad I'm a pack rat and keep everything. Well' I keep stuff until problems show up so I still have my 76 B-100 8 speed Wheel Horse tractor with the cast iron Kohler K series engine. It's engine/trans has never been apart once and not reached its first ring job yet & if it ever does I'll never worry about it again in another 30+ yrs or in my lifetime at least. It still burns no oil and cuts just as good as anything today without any of the mechanical problems. Why people keep buying these junk newer mowers again & again instead of buying the old brutes for a fraction of the cost that have outlasted them all by several decades idk? Restoring these if needed, is a lot cheaper than new mowers now days and it's an all new cast iron brute again ready for decades of service! I see some very nice cast iron garden tractors on craigslist all the time. Real garden tractors because GT used to actually stand for Garden Tractor but now it's just a sticker slapped on them and they can't even run anything, example: My Wheel Horse runs 23 different implements including Generator, side sickle, snowblower, tiller etc... Visiting websites about old Wheel Horses, old JD's & old Cubs (non MTD) tractors etc..and everyone is bragging & very proud of their mowers longevity and still use them regularly, sold or scrapped their newer ones they bought just after a few yrs usage. Been there done that with a Husqvarna myself! Visit any site like this one about newer mowers and what you'll always find is its junk, its in the shop, motors bad after 3 yrs, hydro rear ends out second time around. I'll sue them all! Lemon Laws anyone??..ect.....lol Even the expensive Zero turns have very costly engine/hydro repairs I read about them and have friends who own them too. In fact I'm good friends with people who care for football fields and cemeteries here so I hear first hand but they are very fast cutters while they are problem free, rarely make a complete season without a shop visit though. Expensive upkeep no doubt. Sorry but its just ignorant to me to pizz away money for landfill delight. Simply amazing and very sad for the old crying indian too. It sure takes patience! The rose seems to keep get mixed up with Erinnerung an Brod. I still hope an American rose nursery will import roses from my clone of SDAL. I find HPs exhilarating. While many are tough critters which will thrive if left alone, they were bred with Victorian-era culture in mind; and I enjoy challenging myself to successfully play the role of a dedicated Victorian horticulturist. I enjoy their first burst of bloom, a thrilling spectacle by any measure. The fat buds, the immense blossoms--have I pruned and fertilized just right, how much should I disbud, will they open properly, will the weather cooperate? I feel that I am truly in touch with our rose forebears when I undergo the rigors of attending to HPs, helping them achieve their special sort of perfection. But it's more than that. The HP gardener has a special relationship, a special feeling of community, of shared tribulations and challanges, with his HPs. The triumph of the HP specimen is more than the rose succeeding--it is the gardener succeeding, and in a more participatory way than with other roses. At present, I grow 'Duc de Bragance', 'Gloire de Chedane-Guinoisseau', 'Souvenir du Dr. Jamain', four specimens of 'Roger Lambelin' (a most challenging rose indeed!), 'Comtesse Cecile de Chabrillant', 'Amedee Philibert', foundling 'Benny Lopez', and another foundling which I obtained from HRG decades ago, and the label of which long ago bleached out so I don't even know the study name. Also wanted to chime in on Bordeaux Mix—been using it for years, in extreme cases of disease as a winter spray. Teas made of high silica-based plants (I use lemongrass, because it grows like weed here) also help with disease, preventatively. I use this tea (often adding comfrey & seaweed for nutrients) in warm months. This is how I’m growing my fruit trees and have just added my roses to the tea gang when I noticed the roses sitting under the apples were the cleanest. Paul Neyron seemed to love the heat & humidity, was very prolific, and was intoxicatingly fragrant. For a little baby plant in a 1 gallon pot, he held up his giant blooms loud and proud above all the other babies. He also held his gorgeous pink shade in about 9 hours of sunlight. He’s still in a pot, but going into the ground in the next week or so, so I’ll update on how he likes that later. :-)

Just another note on IE7 - if you can't see the toolbar that has "File Edit View Favorites Tools Help" up at the top, right click on a blank spot next to a tab or somewhere on the toolbar and select MENU BAR. It should show a check mark next to it after you click on it. That toolbar will then show up. Mine wasn't there when I first installed IE7. I use "Favorites" a lot, and just about had a fit when I couldn't find it at first!

I know you are on a high speed connecton now, but with dialup - the tabbed browsing is awesome. You can go down the list of the posts here at the KT and click on them with the center scroll wheel. It opens each post up into a new tab! I can read one while the rest load.

If you need anything other help getting IE7 customized to your preferences - give a holler!

Thanks Iowagirl...got my font changed. That's one step...

Now if I can figure out my HP Image Zone. If I can't I don't know how I'll be able to get my pictures off my camera to print. Or post anymore.

I'm sure there are other programs but that is the only one I've ever used.

Bringing this up again....

Hoping someone will see this and will be able to help me...

I was going to take some pictures of the coasters I've been working on...and remembered that I can't upload any pictures without my HP Image Zone.

Does anyone know of anything else I can use to upload pictures?

Patti - you might be able to use the Scanner and Camera wizard. I cannot get that to work with mine, but I don't hook my camera up like most people do.

When your camera is hooked up - select the Scanner and camera wizard (mine is under accessories) and see if you camera is listed. Follow the wizard to d/l your pics.

I have added a link for the HP Photosmart Essentials download. It is free - and I believe it is the new format of the HP Zone. Hopefully it will be very similar to what you are used to working with.

Service Pack 3 Windows XP update may have installed itself on your computer. I am wondering if that is why you are getting the .Net error - they might not be compatible anymore? It is a good thing to keep up with the Microsoft updates, but I know lots of people have had "issues" with Service Pack 3. It takes a while to get the bugs ironed out.

Patti, my hard drive went out on my computer about a month ago and when I had a new hard drive put in, I no longer had any of my HP stuff. Including Image Zone. What I ended up having to do is to go to the HP website and download the free version, called HP Photosmart Essentials. They said it was the new version of Image Zone. I don't care for it and it isn't as easy to work with as Image Zone was, but it was better than having to go out and buy a new photo editing software.

When you plug your camera into your computer you should be able to go to "my computer" (on my desktop using Vista). It will show you what you have plugged into it.

okay....... I just plugged mine in to do this step by step.

Plug your camera in using your USB cord. Turn on your camera. Now go to My Computer. RIGHT CLICK on your camera and then go down to OPEN. Now you can either drag that file into your pictures folder (or desktop,or where ever you want it) OR, you can open the folder and move the pictures you want to move into the folder of your choosing.

Trying this again...My HP Image Zone disappeared..????
