Trying this again...My HP Image Zone disappeared..????

I gives me an Error message that says to reinstall the .NET Framework. I don't even know what the .NET Framwork is.

PLUS...I let the update on my computer update and it has changed everything...I HATE IT>..that dumb tab stuff...I don't want it and I don't know know how to get rid of it. It is Internet Explorer 7. Will I get used to it and learn to like it or what...Changes upset me.

Oh...and it changed my font...I don't remember how I changed my font to Comic sans but that is what I want.

Patti, have you tried a Restart? That will often cure a multitude of sins!

You must have been upgraded to IE7. Give it a chance. I love the tabbed browsing now, but it did take a bit to get used to.

Here is how to change your font (I love Comic Sans also!)

At the top of the IE7 browser, select TOOLS->INTERNET OPTIONS->GENERAL tab. At the bottom where is says APPEARANCE, select FONT. There you can change back to Comic Sans. Select apply after selecting Comic Sans, the OK if prompted too.

Can you post the exact NET Framework error? You might try going to the HP Website to see if there are any updates for your printer/HP Zone software.

Yes, I've had both blooms taken and, thanfully only once--a potted miniflora; right before mother's day, too. What a lovely sentiment for Mom! "Ma, I love you so much, here's a stolen plant as a token of my appreciation for HOW WELL YOU RAISED ME! I've never had a plant stolen out of the ground, but as for varmints, I have had a number of cats lie on top of young plants and break their canes and new basal growth. It aggravates me for sure, but it's never killed the whole plant. I eventually started sticking little verticle jagged bamboo sticks into the soil in the tops of the pots to discourage them. That seems to "mostly" work. What I haven't figured out is how to keep squirrels from diggin holes in the soil. Any suggestions? Since for the past 8-9 years, I've grown all my roses in pots, after the Mother's Day theft, I started running coated steal cables through holes I've drilled in the pots and connecting all the pots. So someone will either have to plan ahead and bring fairly specialized tools to cut the cables, or break the pots apart and try to carry off the plans sans pot, or bring 3 dozen friends to help them carry all the pots off together, since I lashed the whole garden together, pretty much. That may sound weird, but the way I've arranged it the cables aren't terribly apparent until you try to pick up an individual pot. the cables remain mostly covered in mulch. I know, a determined thief could find a way, but I figure most of the thefts are crimes of convenience (I hope). what's also quite aggravating is people "tearing" rose stems off the bushes, not even bothering to cut them cleanly. I don't mind sharing occasional blooms if people ask, but how thoughtless to damage the whole plant just because you want a pretty flower for a couple days. Mostly I have to count my blessings, though, since I have to grow my roses right out in front where passers by have easy access; that's the only part of my yard with full sun. I'm surprised I've had only 1 plant taken. And the stolen blooms are only a very occasional occurrance.

It sure takes patience! The rose seems to keep get mixed up with Erinnerung an Brod. I still hope an American rose nursery will import roses from my clone of SDAL. perk2, You have a fine machine there. I doubt that a 100 photos are slowing you down. I agree with owbist (nothing will be served by you deleting them, they are simply in storage on your hard drive waiting for you to use) Some people have thousands of photos. My 2 cents on the slow down is either the HP image program or another program or mutiple programs are running in the background that you're not aware of. You can press Ctrl+Alt+Del and get an idea of what processes are running and using the most CPU. To check the programs that run at startup, get the free CCleaner it not only cleans your computer, but under tools/startup, you'll be able to delete entries that are set to run at startup. Basically all you really need to run at startup are the firewall and anti-virus protection. *note, with ccleaner, during the install uncheck google toolbar if you don't want it.

I have a Mac, but assume this would work on a MS system as well. I keep two documents called MISC open at the bottom of my computer. One is a word processing document and the other is a draw program document. (I use the free Libre Office suite.) Whenever I have a long email I first compose it in Word and then copy and paste. It's also handy when I post the same reply in many places on Facebook. The drawing program is handy when I want to copy and paste an image from the web. Amd either is also handy for copying and pasting text from the web, as well. I also can relate to spending considerable time composing an email only to lose it. Not fun!

Just another note on IE7 - if you can't see the toolbar that has "File Edit View Favorites Tools Help" up at the top, right click on a blank spot next to a tab or somewhere on the toolbar and select MENU BAR. It should show a check mark next to it after you click on it. That toolbar will then show up. Mine wasn't there when I first installed IE7. I use "Favorites" a lot, and just about had a fit when I couldn't find it at first!

I know you are on a high speed connecton now, but with dialup - the tabbed browsing is awesome. You can go down the list of the posts here at the KT and click on them with the center scroll wheel. It opens each post up into a new tab! I can read one while the rest load.

If you need anything other help getting IE7 customized to your preferences - give a holler!

Thanks Iowagirl...got my font changed. That's one step...

Now if I can figure out my HP Image Zone. If I can't I don't know how I'll be able to get my pictures off my camera to print. Or post anymore.

I'm sure there are other programs but that is the only one I've ever used.

Bringing this up again....

Hoping someone will see this and will be able to help me...

I was going to take some pictures of the coasters I've been working on...and remembered that I can't upload any pictures without my HP Image Zone.

Does anyone know of anything else I can use to upload pictures?

Patti - you might be able to use the Scanner and Camera wizard. I cannot get that to work with mine, but I don't hook my camera up like most people do.

When your camera is hooked up - select the Scanner and camera wizard (mine is under accessories) and see if you camera is listed. Follow the wizard to d/l your pics.

I have added a link for the HP Photosmart Essentials download. It is free - and I believe it is the new format of the HP Zone. Hopefully it will be very similar to what you are used to working with.

Service Pack 3 Windows XP update may have installed itself on your computer. I am wondering if that is why you are getting the .Net error - they might not be compatible anymore? It is a good thing to keep up with the Microsoft updates, but I know lots of people have had "issues" with Service Pack 3. It takes a while to get the bugs ironed out.

Patti, my hard drive went out on my computer about a month ago and when I had a new hard drive put in, I no longer had any of my HP stuff. Including Image Zone. What I ended up having to do is to go to the HP website and download the free version, called HP Photosmart Essentials. They said it was the new version of Image Zone. I don't care for it and it isn't as easy to work with as Image Zone was, but it was better than having to go out and buy a new photo editing software.

When you plug your camera into your computer you should be able to go to "my computer" (on my desktop using Vista). It will show you what you have plugged into it.

okay....... I just plugged mine in to do this step by step.

Plug your camera in using your USB cord. Turn on your camera. Now go to My Computer. RIGHT CLICK on your camera and then go down to OPEN. Now you can either drag that file into your pictures folder (or desktop,or where ever you want it) OR, you can open the folder and move the pictures you want to move into the folder of your choosing.
