trish that is just how I feel about my sisters. They don't allow us to be together very often.... to much mischief happening otherwise. :)

I have always wanted a sister~~~I got two 'good for nothing brothers' BUT I have 2 wonderful DD's and two great DGD's~~~so it worked out in the end ;)

I sincerely wish I could say the same. I envy those who have a great relationship with their sisters. I have 4 of them (no bros), ages 44-54 with me in the very middle. None of us are close and getting more distant as we age....and we all live within 45 minutes or less of each other. If I had to pick these 4 as sisters or even friends, I wouldn't. Too much drama, dysfunction, self-absorption, and disrespect for me to want in my life (I often wonder how I can have the same blood). They all put their friends well before their family in every way, shape, and form, and it's been proven in my family that water is thicker than blood. I gave up on trying to make us a civil family.

You are one lucky lady, Trishany.

I always regretted very much that I had no sisters or brothers but after seeing some large families, I finally realized that sometimes, and only sometimes, it isn't always a bad thing.

And I love my two sisters, Bonnie(Barbara) and Suzie. I'm the oldest.

trishany, Like you, I'm grateful for my 2 sisters. Like you, we went through glioblastoma together. Hang together.

I originally had 7 sisters and 4 brothers.All 4 brothers have passed on as have 2 sisters.The other 6 of us girls get along fabulously well,and when we get together which for me isn't often enough as i live 3000 miles away from them.However i talk with each and everyone of them at least once a week and sometimes more.

I personally look up to my 2nd oldest as most of us do,she's always been there for any of us through anything we are going thru.

They all look up to me as far as strength and outlook on life goes as i'm the one who's had all the surgeries in my life including breast cancer and they say i never let it get me down~~~~~~~~~that's true.I try to always keep a positive attitude as i know there's always someone out there worse off than i.

We don't argue or get into all that sibling rivalry that a lot of families do,and we can thank our parents for that.

You are blessed. I have 1 brother and 1 sister. I'm much closer to my brother than my sister. He lives 500 miles away and she only lives 40. She's 10 years older and everything seems to be abt her. We joke and say it's her world, we just live in it! I still love her but some things she just doesn't get or understand. Never has, never will.

I don't know what I'd do without my twin. You know her here as Heather!

I'm blessed many times over with 5 sisters and one sweet brother. We have way too much fun when we get together.

Five brothers and no sisters. Can't say as I wish I had a sister, can't miss what you never had. I wouldn't trade any of the bros though, that I know. Kinda nice being the only girl however as we age, it's a lot of work now.

I've lost all 4 of my sisters, including my twin. We were all very, very close. I'm so happy to hear that you and your sisters are the same as we were. Enjoy each other! (((Trishany & sisters)))

Good for those who have a great relationship with their sister(s). I don't ... it fell totally apart nearly 6 years ago and my mom, brothers & I haven't seen the lying, thieving, scum sucker since. She's just lucky she didn't have a vacation in jail.

On the other hand, my sister-in-law and I have a very close, true friendship that has really blossomed since we're both retired. She has no sister, so now we call each other "sister" and we even resemble one another.

My sister is 12 years younger than I am. Mom let me name her, to her total dismay.LOL She was the flower girl in our wedding. We are very close now that she is 62 and I'm almost 75. We had a brother, the eldest, but he has passed on. hubs and I had two boys then our daughter. I always wanted to have another girl so each of the kids would have at least one brother and one sister, but there were no gaurantees that the next one would have been a girl, so we stopped at three.

my half sister was 25 when i was born(between her 2 dds)and she is sorely missed everyday...i'm so glad she was one of my mother's best friends, too (they were only 5 years apart)

My sister was 24 when I was born, she and my mom were pregnant together. She died when I was 20, we had a very difficult relationship. Part mom, part sister, I do miss her so much. Her son, my nephew, that was 7 months older than me, was the one that died two years ago from pancreatic cancer. I'm the only one left from our immediate family.

My heart goes out to all of you who have lost your siblings. I treasure the relationship I have with my twin.

How nice! I sometimes wish I had a sister assuming we'd be close but there are sure no guarantees. Both my brothers are alcoholics (or were when alive) thus no close relationship - might very well have been the same with a sister. I have a friend with sisters - one of whom is she has no contact with for same reason.
