Need some good thoughts for tomorrow

I've been at home with my GD for 4 years after being RIFfed. I'm having my first job interview tomorrow. I'm am nervous about interviewing after so many years.

Just think some good thoughts tomorrow around noon.

Sending out good thoughts for you Cardamom...I went back to work after not working since '91.Been there a year now! It was tough at first,never ever did "office work" I was a plant worker before,Boyer Bros....But I made it through the tough times and now it's fine.More work than i bargained for though! LOL!

Thanks guys :) really appreciate the good thoughts. Actually Maggie, I'm in radio, and we do talk about it a little on the air, the guy I do the morning show with is a big animal lover, so we do a lot of dog and cat stories etc..What I really want to do is get with my primary vet, I haven't really talked to him since the initial rupture...I know that he is inclined to reccomend euthanasia for these type cancers :( as they are so aggressive. I just want to show him Bob, and offer my number to anyone contemplating what direction they want to go in. I have no regrets on what we did with Bob. He really suffered no ill effects to speak of from the treatment...His quality of life is excellent at the moment...I am also thinking about starting up a message board for this type of thing. I joined a cancer group on yahoo, but they were sooooo restrictive, and moderated everything, drove me nuts. Anyway I may have to look into that. Thanks again for all the well wishes, I can't tell you how grateful I am that he is doing so well, everyday when we go for our walks in the pasture, I see him galloping ahead of me:) I raise my head and say a little thank you :).

LindaC, I am not a gum chewer. I've been on Zantac for a couple of years for gastric reflux but I seldom take it because I didn't need to very often which is why he's thinking it's the reflux. That'll be the next round of tests, I'm sure. Lars, the doc is about 15 minutes away, in a neighboring town, but he's my general practitioner. If I need a specialist, it's 50 miles to Grand Rapids, they are closest. So, we'll keep trying... Thanks everyone, for the good thoughts. Annie

Annie - My slim active mid 50's DH thought he had the flu 2 weeks ago - Doc insisted on stress test --- immediate surgery (saved his life) the "flu and sore throat" was heart blockages - numerous and severe. Too many for a bypass - We are still in shock! Cooking will change. I tell you this not to scare you, but to tell you to listen to your Boy Wonder!! I too am sending positive thoughts your way.

Just got back from the hospital. She was admitted. They started pushing her IV. She was severely dehydrated was anemic to the point they said she may have to have a transfusion. The Dr. on call ordered lots of tests including a cat scan. She does have a skull fracture and he is going to talk to us about this tomorrow. It doesn't look to promising as of right now. There's more going on that I don't understand, hopefully the Dr. can clear this up for me tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for everything. Patty

Cardamom I just went through the same thing last week. First interview in 23 years and I was really nervous. The interview lasted all of 15 minutes and was nowhere near as bad as I had conjured up in my mind. Good luck. I'm sure you will do just fine.

Very likely things will go very well - more so than you were worried about.

Be quietly confident, look people in the eye when speaking to them and give straight and simple answers.

A friendly smile is helpful. Some humour if it fits nicely should add a bit of flavour.

Good wishes as you go visit the interrogator(s)! Aren't you glad that torture is no longer in style?

Ditto everything ole joyful said. And keep in mind, they're interested, YOU were called for the interview!
(Sometimes, getting a job seems like harder work doing it.)

Cardamom, you'll do fine, just dress with confidence, smile, shake hands firmly and ask a couple of questions...companies these days really like it if you ask them about their company policies or to expand on something they have mentioned...if you can find out anything about the place on the internet, jot down something that they could clarify or tell you more about that relates to your job or the company in general. You will get big points in the interviewer's eyes...

I'm in the same boat, haven't worked for 4 years. I really need to get a job, but seems there is always something that comes up, and it just isn't the right time.
