And Joan Fontaine is gone, too. I enjoyed both their movies very much. RIP. Two more stars in God's heaven.

I worked for 11 years for a theatre in Toronto that got the same productions as Broadway, once they toured. Over the years I met many actors and had to interact with them (signing contracts, ensuring their dressing rooms and hotel rooms were to their liking, etc.) during the 8 weeks of the duration of the play.

Some actors were very nice people and very good actors. Some were very good actors but not so nice people. Some of the 'old school' stars I met included Sir Ralph Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave, Katharine Hepburn, Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy, Ingrid Bergman, Olivia de Havilland, Peter O'Toole, Maggie Smith, Helen Hayes, Yul Brynner, and Lucille Ball. Katharine Hepburn, Peter O'Toole and Yul Brynner were 'very good actors.'

LOL, Pickyshopper! Just as I would have suspected! What an interesting time for you!

OTOH, "The Lion in Winter" is probably my favorite film of all time, and it starred both Hepburn and O'Toole. "Lion" was adapted from a play by Richard Goldman. He and his brother William are both natives of our Chicago North Shore -- which I just discovered yesterday while looking up facts about the film.

chisue, Katharine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole starred in two different plays at our theatre, so I met them separately. I also love "The Lion in Winter," but I wonder what the rest of the cast and movie crew thought of working with both of them TOGETHER, because each was very demanding and difficult on an individual basis. Yul Brynner had them both beat though, lol!
