I have an old cash drawer from an old cash register. Not just the dividers, but the whole box with a drawer that rolls in and out. it is 6 inches tall about 2 feet by 2 feet square. Most time I have a little bunge strap holding it closed (especially when we are busy). When we don't have customers it is shut. I feel safer with this. With it being that big, it also holds our scales. I have thought about putting a bolt in the bottom of it and then putting a hole through the table, but I haven't thought I needed it. That way the shut drawer is bolted to the table. Also, our market is on the Courthouse square. There are usually 3 or 4 law enforcement vehicles parked near by at all times. The county jail is also there. Not to mention several of our law enforcement officers frequent the market during the day. Jay

you made me remember my parents first remodel. My Mom happened to run across an ad in the local paper for an appliance store that was closing. She went over to check it out and found the following: a 7-element Thermador cooktop (over 48" wide?) a Thermador double oven. a VAH wide enough for the cooktop with heating racks. a GE 25' SxS fridge a KA (or at that time Hobart) dishwasher a KA (probably Hobart) disposal a GE washer/dryer pair. Mom said, "How much?" The store owner said, "well, if you take them off my hands today and pay cash, how about 25% of list price?" Mom said, "give me the phone." She called my Dad who drove over with the pickup, loaded everything up and paid cash. It all sat in the garage for the time it took to complete the cabinet build-out, but at %75 off it didn't matter. Oh, the Thermadors, VAH and dw were stainless. The fridge was white. But the price was right. ;-)

Nicole, I wish that was our bedroom, but it is not. Those are the marketing photos on the Kohl's site. I would post a pic of the set in our home (guest room, not master bedroom) but the room is not quite finished yet. I remembered another awesome deal I got a few months back that still brings a smile to my face every time I think about it. When I traveled around Japan in 2008 I came across a wonderful display of sake barrels at a temple in Kobe. I just fell in love with them and took several pictures, one of which is hung in our hallway. One day, just on a whim, I did a search for sake barrel on Craig's List and found one for $10. These things run hundreds of dollars! I figured something must be wrong with it but went to pick it up anyhow. Not only is it in great shape, considering its age, it still have all of the shipping tags and such from when it was shipped to LA in the 1960s. These are the sake barrels I found in Kobe. They are for display only and not filled with sake or really considered the real thing. Instead, they are considered spiritual in nature. This is the sake barrel I bought on CL for $10. Sorry for the poor photo, I'm too lazy to get up and snap another pic, but you get the idea. The shape is squat like the ones in Kobe, don't know why it doesn't look that way in the photo. Jodi-

Gayle0000 .. that map is beautiful! What a wonderful find for you. Allison0704 .. thank so much for listing those wonderful maps. They make me appreciate the price on this map even more. After swim practice, one of my girlfriends offered for the girls to stay at the pool with her girls ( our girls are best friends ) so I could run back. I picked up the map, the lamps and I also found a painting I liked in the 60% off room. Th guy that owns the place come down to $55 for the map, $50 for the lamps and the painting wasn't supposed to be in the marked down room, but he honored it since someone there had tagged it wrong. So I got the painting for $20! Here's the map .. it has more yellow on it than I remembered, but I still love it. There is also no orange, that's red and it reads red in real life, my camera didn't pick up the accurate color for some reason. Key : Side top : Other side top : Side bottom : The painting, didn't think it was too bad for $20: It's of a cottage .. Close up : The lamps .. I just threw this stuff up here, this is not the final resting spot for the lamps or painting :
