i just got the deal of the decade on my appliances

i spent 15 hrs over 2 days busting heads at bby,hhgregg,brandsmart and lowes. HERE'S WHAT I BOUGHT AND NET WHAT I PAID GE CAFE GAS RANGE ($1600), GE CAFE MICROWAVE($438), BOSH TOP OF THE LINE 800 SERIES DISHWASHER WITH THE CONTROL BUTTONS ON TOP ($640), KITCHEN AID 25 CU FRIDGE,CABINET COUNTER DEPTH ALL STANLESS STEEL FRONT INCLUDING WATER DISPENSOR $2898 AT LOWES AND I GOT FOR $2000. I NEGOTIATED AT THE AOVE STORES WITH BRANDSMART BEING THE CHEAPEST AT $2030 FOR THE RANGE, AND $538 FOR MICROWAVE. I THEN WENT TOSEARS LAST AND THATS WERE I GOTT HE DEAL. SEARS HAS A GIG 10% BACK FOR 1 APPILANCE,15% FOR 2 AND 20% FOR 3. THATS 20% BACK ON ALL APLLIANCES IF YOU BUY 3 OR MORE AT 1 TIME. THE BOSH WAS A DISCOUNTINUED ITEM SO THATS WHY I GOT THAT DEAL. anyway they price matched brandsmarts increadible deal and i got 20% back on top of those. i walked out on the above for $4800 or so. but again to get hose deals you must go to appliance stores and negotiate and get there prices in writing.i'm not real sure on the fridge if i'll keep or swap out before i get them. i'm about to do all my countets and cabinets and with this deal i ahd to buy the appliances early. haven';t even decided on cabinets yet

Congrats!! GREAT DEALS!! My question is I too have shopped till I dropped for appliances but have not yet purchased. My question is I would prefer to buy from Sears as most of what I want is Kenmore. However, I have not found they are willing to negotiate AT ALL from the already listed price even though I can get similar products at a local appliance store cheaper. They just say they can't compete with the local appliance dealer because they buy in bulk and then put them on sale. Who did you speak with at Sears to match your offers? The Manager or did you discuss with the regional manager? Thanks for the direction.

Sears will price match on name brands - but Kenmore is their own brand so you won't be able to find lower prices at other stores. Sears does frequently have sales on Kenmore appliances, though.

*sigh* I have to return the 2 purplish phlox. I just can't find a good place for them. They don't look well with the light purple liatris or anywhere else in my 2 garden beds! Oh well, they had a nice light blue salvia I've been wanting so I'll just exchange them for 2 of those! :)

and they were selling out of all their appliances. These were store floor models so they just sold them out of the stores. But you can find them online. I guess I registered at some point or maybe the site is just smart enough to know where I am because it only showed local store closeouts. Bill/Memphis

if the electrolux is your first choice i would get them-( of course after doing research on the internet and knowing that was the best price) especially since warranty starts after you install them. i've had similar offers where it seems like a good deal and if i knew exactly what i wanted i would have jumped at the chance but i was still waivering and didn't want to regret.

Also, keep in mind that Kenmore does not manufacture *anything* themselves. Everything Kenmore-branded is actually a rebadged product from another company.

Post the Kenmore models you want and someone should be able to tell you what the "real" manufacturer/model is.. while Sears will still call it their own brand and not price match, that does give you the option of going somewhere else and getting the same thing as another brand name.

This probably won't work if you're particularly attached to the exact LOOK of a Kenmore - they change the body panels sometimes too - but mechanically, a Kenmore is actually something else. When you go to get a service manual for a Kenmore appliance, you usually end up with the service manual for whatever other product it 'really' is.

I would love to buy the GE Cafe for $1600. I can't imagine how you worked that out... What does Sears normally sell it for??? I was in Sears Saturday, but they didn't have any in store and I didn't inquire about their price on it...

you made me remember my parents first remodel. My Mom happened to run across an ad in the local paper for an appliance store that was closing. She went over to check it out and found the following:

a 7-element Thermador cooktop (over 48" wide?)
a Thermador double oven.
a VAH wide enough for the cooktop with heating racks.
a GE 25' SxS fridge
a KA (or at that time Hobart) dishwasher
a KA (probably Hobart) disposal
a GE washer/dryer pair.

Mom said, "How much?" The store owner said, "well, if you take them off my hands today and pay cash, how about 25% of list price?" Mom said, "give me the phone." She called my Dad who drove over with the pickup, loaded everything up and paid cash. It all sat in the garage for the time it took to complete the cabinet build-out, but at %75 off it didn't matter. Oh, the Thermadors, VAH and dw were stainless. The fridge was white. But the price was right. ;-)

as i said i negotiated down to $2050 or so at brandsmart. hh gregg would have done the same. sears prices matches plus 10% of difference. and now sears has a deal if you buy 1 -3 aplliaances you get 10-20% off all you buy so that 20% off takes me to $1600. the price at every store is $2499 i believe. plus sears service and my comfort with them is the best.again the deal starts by getting somebody to lowball and getting the next guy to price match and the 10% off the difference. the kicker was sears 20 additional % off
