New-To-Me Catalog Has Nice Gifts

Today's mail brought a catalog I'd not seen before. I was impressed with what they have on offer. It's Garnet Hill, located in Franconia, NH. (They have a web address, but I don't think it's OK to put that on the forum.)

WOW! I just went to their website to look at women's pants - $228 A PAIR - IMHO, that is NOT a good price! Holey Moses!

I got a catalog yesterday that made me laugh. Land's End, whole catalog featured bathing suits! Yes, I wonder who on my list would like a bathing suit!?

I ordered last year: *Cinderella fairy tale - this has become really big and wide and flowered best in spring with sporadic repeats after that. * Pomponella- is growing quite strongly and flowers constantly *Flamingo- I like it better than Bride's Dream or Royal Highness. I think it's the perfect bride's bouquet flower. All the bareroot plants were HUGE. I advise any west coast gardeners to order in Fall because they don't always have enough orders to send out a shipment to the west coast in Jan-Feb. at least that was what they told me last year. Also, there are issues with cold weather in the East spoiling the plants during transit. Then you might have to wait until later when it's past the optimum planting time. I find my bareroots don't take off as well here in April as they did in the first months of the year. The shipping is expensive, but wait until you see your plants!

I really like the round bed also. You did a fantastic job and it already looks great. I have seen those fancy edgers at home depot that you used but you must be more ambitious than I am because I figgured they would be lots of work to get done. Plus those things weigh a ton LOL! All the daylilies look great but I like APACHE WAR DANCE the very best.

I loved finding this swap. I'm filing this for an I can't get outside week. Too much to check out in a day. I don't think I saw this one though. TGN's Pumpkin Nook, sells Ferry Morse and Lilly Miller seed and Jiffy supplies along with other items. Not just pumpkins as the name would imply. This is only an internet site but you can mail or call in your orders. They have excellent prices. Their seeds are less than what I would have to pay at a local store. They don't offer a huge selection but they do have organics and heirlooms. Another plus is Ferry Morse seeds are guaranteed to grow. You have to check out the Ferry Morse site to read that. Shipping on seeds is a flat rate of $2.79 per order. Less than a gallon of gas in most places. Other items ship at a different rate. I've always had excellent service as well. Thanks Dan, you are the Man. I mean mailman.

Cherry Republic (Glen Arbor, MI) has wonderful food gifts. They have all products containing Traverse City cherries .... and everything is absolutely delicious!!! Their Cherry Salsa is EXCELLENT. I have bought it by the case and have seen others do that also. They have cherry chocolates, pretzels, granola, peanut butter, etc., etc., etc. AND, if, you visit one of their stores, they are very generous with their samples ... oh, and they have fun clothes too. jody Here is a link that might be useful: Cherry Republic

If I remember correctly, Garnet Hill used to have beautiful bedding. But expensive.

They do carry higher-end clothing and bedding, but I liked their unique (to me anyway) toys and ornaments. They aren't 'couture' high-end; you'd find similar pricing in some of the departments at Macy's or Bloomingdale's. (Well, I *used* to see similar, back when I actually *shopped*! LOL)
