What happened to the Kordes rose, Pomponella? I was planning to order it and it's no longer on Palatine's list.

I already had one rose I wanted to order from Pallatine -- a vendor that is new to me, but I decided to try based on the reviews I've found here. I ended up ordering 11. I decided to be smart, and I chose a spring shipping date. I have WAY too many roses to plant at the new place, and I don't want to have to deal with new bare roots in the fall this year. (I seriously thought about accepting shipment in early November, but I decided to be practical.) Late March should be just right.

Ah, thank you Beth for that picture of Queen of Hearts. I couldn't get the Kordes site to work for me. So far my order is Countess Sonja (I ordered it last year but it was too small for them to send), Blue River, and Valencia. I wanted to keep it to four roses but that last one is tough. Actually I wanted to keep it to three roses but that isn't happening.

Oh groan, I just peeked, my pen ran out of ink. LOL Gotta love em.

I ordered last year:
*Cinderella fairy tale - this has become really big and wide and flowered best in spring with sporadic repeats after that.
* Pomponella- is growing quite strongly and flowers constantly
*Flamingo- I like it better than Bride's Dream or Royal Highness. I think it's the perfect bride's bouquet flower.

All the bareroot plants were HUGE. I advise any west coast gardeners to order in Fall because they don't always have enough orders to send out a shipment to the west coast in Jan-Feb. at least that was what they told me last year. Also, there are issues with cold weather in the East spoiling the plants during transit. Then you might have to wait until later when it's past the optimum planting time. I find my bareroots don't take off as well here in April as they did in the first months of the year. The shipping is expensive, but wait until you see your plants!

Mike Rivers, you should contact Palatine and ask if they still have it. One of the roses I wanted isn't in the catalog this year but they still have two plants of it if I want one. I'm still thinking about it. Thanks again for the pictures Beth, I'm going to have to add that one.
