What's for dinner 12/21?

It's clean out the frig night so who knows what lurks in there. Spent most of the day at VA again. They put Harry back on Coumidin so it'll be weekly trips for a while. Bah!

I can't say I had a 'fun' day, but it was a relaxing one. I decided to make what Cherryfizz/Anne wrote about a few days ago: Make a white sauce, add canned salmon, peas to it and serve over noodles. Turned out pretty good.

DH just asked the same question! My answer,the usual one,was "I have no idea"! I have nothing thawed out,as usual.LOL I have a couple of small round roasts in the freezer that I bought on sale in NM.Think I may put them in a sink full of cold water and thaw them,then cut off some steaks,beat the heck out of them and make chicken fried steak.Today is DH's birthday and he is feeling a little down because only one of the kids has called him to wish him happy Birthday so far.Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes are his favorite meal and I haven't made them in a long time,so I think that's the menu! May be 8 o'clock before we eat but I guess that's OK too. By the way,why is it men get so bent out of shape when "everyone" doesn't wish them a happy birthday? I have to remind HIM when it's mine then it doesn't mean anything that he says it.LOL

Early morning appointments for a gallbladder U/S and Upper GI series. Faxing information all over the place (it seems) and then picking up the girls from school. We ran by Kroger and grabbed some fried chicken and I made stuffing, a salad and spaghetti squash. Lauren and I were the only ones who liked the squash. Leftovers and chicken breast (the boneless skinless kind) for lunch tomorrow.

Hmmm well, I'm in a dilemma. For my holiday plans, I'd like to join YOU and Marilyn_Sue! I obviously have to make a decision and I don't know where to go. (Besides the obvious, that is). I've got a well-done roast in the oven with carrots and onions around it. Mashed potatoes as a side. Hubs LOVES well-done roasts. He doesn't it pink/red. So.....well-done it is. I made bread using Brigette today for the first time. I might have made a couple of human errors, bur she's very forgiving. We'll break into that loaf tonite as well.

Great will power, Glenda! Sue, where have you been, or have I just missed your posts? I know, it's a busy time of year. Are the radishes you get hot? I love hot ones. Daddy used to grow those white icicle radishes and they were sooooo good!

Friends had their annual Winter Solstice open house this afternoon.....meatballs, two kinds of soup, cheeses, cakes, etc. So that was my dinner tonight. I met an older woman who travels a lot, but not since the stiffer airport rules have been on. She said she's anxiously waiting for the pat down....what a hoot she was to talk to.

There were six of us for supper. I had fixed chili soup and banana bread and they had cheese and crackers and celery and carrot sticks. (No it was not me and five dogs :)
