Question About WOT Mentioned by RavenCajun

You mentioned WOT again in another post today. I meant to download it the other day when you mentioned it, but forgot.

Do I just click on the "Download Add-On" button?

Anyone else know?

Hi Brenda,
Yes, click the Add-on button.

Oh, I can't not read, so I've read a couple since then, but neither book was all that good. I started another one yesterday. I'm catching up on some young adult books that I might have read over the winter if I hadn't been reading AMoL. And I haven't gotten back to any of those sites - guess I got to the point that I didn't want to think about it for awhile. Maybe I will and see what other people have to say.

you should really really stay away from that site it has a very bad reputation. It is a RED listed WOT site if you were using WOT as I recommend everyone do you would not be able to go to the site it would be blocked. Just to see how bad it is here is their WOT report card, 9 pages of complaints and many are about malicious content and trojans iwon.com Not to mention that site is listed at malwaredomain which should mean do NOT go there. I can not imagine anything worthwhile that would make me risk it. I would run an updated malwarebytes scan immediately. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Win) - Detecting and Removing Malware

Raven, I will NEVER be gray. LOL! Been coloring my hair for years and years, and now that there is more natural gray than not, I'm using a very light shade so that it's all one color, but just not gray. If I were not to color, I would look like a skunk with streaks of dark among the light (white). Goldy, just stay away from those sites that promise all kinds of good things for your computer. Most of them are just scams, but the free stuff we talk about here will help you lots.

Question About Antivirus Software For 2015
Q
Comments (21)
Hmm, FixMeStick - never heard of that one before. Of note : "Not a replacement for anti-virus software which protects PCs from infections, the FixMeStick is for removing infections that got past the anti-virus." About Norton . . . . there are various mentions on av-comparatives.org that Symantec had elected not to participate, although it's not stated as the general reason it's not included so it's a bit of a mystery. I think Aputernut's main point there was to remove any existing AV program before installing another. However, despite that it may work well for some users, it has a reputation in the IT fixit world as being (historically) heavy on resources, and very difficult to remove. It even requires a separate special tool to remove it completely. On the other hand, since a lot of people use it, it probably generates more complaints just by the raw numbers. Your mileage may vary. The problem is, once a program gets a reputation, many people may move away from it and continue to stick with their last impression of it. It's hard to keep up with every iteration of a program. Case in point . . . Internet Explorer, which really lagged for a very long time, but now has somewhat caught up with the competition. Nevertheless, it's left such a bad impression a lot of people won't touch it, myself included. This post was edited by kbarb on Sun, Oct 26, 14 at 11:55

It'll still be there and working Brenda. I don't have a bar downloaded anywhere.
You should see a green ring/circle on the address bar somewhere. Mine is to the right.

you don't have to do anything to make it work once you have it added to your browser, to see it in action go to google and do a search for anything, next to each line that comes up in the search you will see the circles green is safe, yellow is cautionary and red is stay away. If you click on a red site wot will block it and you will see the large wot warning on that warning there is a clickable line that will take you to the info about that site and you can see why it has been rated the way it has. many times there are user comments also which I really like.

I have had mine a long time I did not get the offer for the bing bar back then, apparently however it sounds as though you can get rid of it. Usually you can find it in add remove and remove bing there also.

I see my wot circles on every page I go to including this one up at the top of my browser bar. Since I use firefox I have moved mine around to exactly where I want it. If you click on the circle at any time it gives you the info.

If you download the Bing bar and don't want it, I think you can just go to the VIEW in the bar just below your browser. Click on it and if you have a check mark in front of Bing Bar just click on it and UN-check it.

LOL..I didn't realize I could move the little circle! It was over in the top right corner (not where I'd think about looking at it) and I've moved it to the middle!
