We are having chili dogs & chips with birthday cake for dessert...

Cold front coming this way.It's been in the 70's and now falling temps.

Lloyd's for half plate of hamburger steak, gravy and onions on the side, plain baked potato and tossed salad with blue cheese dressing.

Lobster bisque, sourdough bread and Cesar salad! Yum!

Brown rice and mixed grains with onions, g. pepper, red and black beans, with a can of Rotel added. I'll add some diced chicken, too.

Hmmmm, it needs something green....maybe a couple handfuls of kale? Way too early to start fixing supper, so maybe I'll get inspired.

I think I might order pizza if not it will have to be baked potatoes stuffed with diced ham and cheese.

DH picked up some Chinese food...don't know what and don't care. I think it was so great of him. It's been a rough two weeks here. They didn't finish up the bathroom until 4:00 p.m. the day before Thanksgiving and I was feeding them lunch while trying to make Thanksgiving dinner. DS left last Sunday and by then I bottomed out. Took the whole day off and worked on a baby blanket I'm crocheting for a baby shower this Sunday. Monday I had to start focusing on a luncheon I was in charge of for 116 ladies. Luncheon was yesterday, so glad that's over. Phew! The tables turned out beautiful...all fresh greens and Byer's Carolers. Finished the baby afghan today and did several loads of wash but basically took it easy so I'm ever so grateful I don't have to make dinner!

Still raining here in TN. The temps did not get past 30 today.

Dinner was 3 bean chili for hubby & I had a steak & mashed potato

Why is it that I can be all filled up, but when I read what others are having, I start salivating?

Laura: I love chili dogs. What kind of cake....I'll take a slice?

Glenda: Patti and I have often agreed we'd like to go to some of your lunch places with you. Lloyd's sounds like a good place to start.

Terilyn: Never tried lobster bisque. I like just regular lobster though so probably would.

Rhizo: Think I asked you before for brand name of your brown rice and mixed grains. I could only find mixed rices. Yours always sounds so good.

Ravencajun: I'll opt for your potato. Never thought of adding ham to one.

Georgysmom: I'm exhausted just reading what all you've been doing. How do you do it all? Glad you don't have to cook tonight.

Mary: You've had a lot of rain this year, haven't you? I'll take a little bit of each of your meals.

Hi Shirley,
Cloudy and fairly brisk here today; just below freezing.
We felt like pasta so we had pasta with marinara, and garlic toast and a tossed salad.

Just heading out for the nite; hubby has a gig (he's a drummer in a country/rock band).

Salmon cakes, Mac & cheese, green beans

well he decided we wanted to go with Pizza so that is what I ordered.
It is getting pretty chilly here right now it has dropped down to 38.
It could get colder too. At least no snow or ice.

A tiring day so just fixed myself an omega 3 peanut butter sandwich and a big mug of hot chocolate. Snow on the ground and a bit chilly out.

Very cold/freezing few days here in Nor CAL. It finally feels like winter and the holidays!

I am making pulled pork sliders and a caesar salad. Peanut butter/chocolate chip cookies for dessert.

Jasdip: Pasta is in my top 10 of favorite meals. Funny that I've never made garlic bread to go with it. I only have it when I go out to eat.

Bigack: I really, really like salmon cakes, and you had just the right 'sides'.

Ravencajun: It's crazy that the temps are so similar for both of our areas. Still snowing like crazy here in OH, w/temps in high 20s now.

Sue: That sounds like a comforting, warming supper. I've been craving hot choc tonight. I had to look up the omega 3 pb. Hadn't heard of it before.

It's cold here also n S.Calif only 56 the highest today and for us that's cold.

We are having leftover spaghetti and salad from last night.Last night we had a spaghetti dinner for 12 here at my house,to welcome a new to us ggs to the family.

He's 13 and before his mom gave birth to him she and my gs broke up and she moved somewhere else and we didn't know where until just recently.He wanted to meet his dad and his side of the family,so his mom, dgs x, found him on facebook,they started talking and decided in the best interest of the kid that they would make it happen,so he could meet the family,so we had them all over last night for dinner.The new ggs wants to live with his dad,my gs,and they worked it out and my gs has been down here all week going thru the courts,schools etc to get everything in order.

It has all worked out well,and we told his x that we hold no grudges against anyone,they were at the time as we say young and stupid.They have all grown older and wiser over the years.

The x's mom and dd also came over for dinner and we all had a great time.The 13 year old ggs also has a stepbrother,my gs other son who is 8 years old and his x has a dd who is also 8,and we intend to keep them all connected with each other.

Alls well that ends well!!

We went out tonight to a neighborhood Italian restaurant owned by friends. DH had pasta with gorgonzola sauce and grilled chicken. I had a mushroom ravioli with mushroom and sausage cream sauce.

Wendy's tonight ...long week...I went to Safeway and bought pizza meats and cheese but by the time I finally made it home...I did not want to cook..

Gadgets, the brand name is Rice Select Royal Blend whole grain. They make several different blends as well as different kinds of plain rice.

The are all marketed in 28 oz. clear plastic cannisters. The blend I happen to have on hand tonight contains texmati brown rice, red rice, barley, and rye. There are no spices, flavorings, or salt added.

I LOVE this stuff. I often cook it in broth for extra flavor, and add any kind of extras for a great, healthy one pot meal. I love to toss in smoked sausage and shrimp.

This product probably won't appeal to those who are used to white rice because it is very 'grainy ' tasting.....for lack of a better word, lol. Very earthy.

Rhizo: Thanks for the info. I did look at this brand at WalMart, but they only had various rice blends, no other grains with them. I looked online and know I'd like a lot of the combinations.
