mini quiches (while waiting on everyone to arrive)
And to die for: grape salsa I got the recipe and can't wait to make it.

Dessert: lots to choose from but dear friend brought bourbon bread pudding that was her brother's recipe
So I had that and the below:
A square thing that had graham crackers as the base, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, coconut and pecans

I did eat light and managed getting home without that stuffed feeling.

Your blue plate special sounds so good to me. We are having steak and mashed potatoes with garlic and oil sauteed spinach.

Seafood chowder...I make it with lots of carrots, celery, potatoes, and smoked sausage. I also season it with Old Bay. It'll be creamy and buttery. Robert called from work and said he was hungry for it and asked me to email him the grocery list so he could pick up the fixin's.

Glenda, did you have another Christmas party today? Everything sounds good and I hope you'll share the grape salsa recipe. What did they serve it with?

I think I'm just going to heat up the left over pork from last night with a little gravy, mashed potatoes and some roasted carrots and parsnips.....a little applesauce, too. I have to make egg rolls tonight for my luncheon on Friday. That will keep me busy enough in the kitchen.

Everything posted here so far today would be okay with me. I admire Glenda's restraint. The place where I get the roast beef/potatoes/gravy (or could get turkey) calls it Manhattans.

I cooked up a hambone someone gave me. I got about 8 to 10 oz of ham from it too. I added potatoes, carrots and green beans to half of it tonight. I'll use the rest to make split pea soup.

I fixed a big supper. Beef and noodles, potatoes, sweet corn, potato yeast rolls, french vanilla cake and iced tea. I just finished packing up a carrier bag of food for Mike to stop by and get on his way home from work and that will be what they have to eat this evening too.

Late yoga night for me, I made salads~~~DH will it before me, he grilled chicken breast for his dinner last night. He did an extra one for his salad~~I boiled some cheese tortellini for me to ad in mine;)

Thanks, Georgysmom, I do feel relatively better. Sounds like a busy evening for you. I've never made them,but I would think egg rolls would be rather time consuming. And you still managed to make a great dinner.

Shirley, that's right!! They're called Manhattans. Until you posted that I'd forgotten they had a name. Duh! Boy, are you lucky someone gave you their ham bone. I guard ours with my life. Think it's the best part of buying a ham :-)

I have a pot roast in the oven with red potatoes and lots of onions,for a wonderful onion brown gravy, so I can have my rice and gravy fix.

I fixed some red beans, sausage and rice a couple of days ago. Used the left over beans, mashed up and "refried" to make some chalupas. They were so good. Those beans have so much flavor.

Baked Tilapia, wild rice, and salad. Pretty easy and good!!

Hubby is having a foodgasm over Glenda's chili right now. Third time he's had it in the past week or so.
