LORDY, Lordy, L O R D Y !!!!!!!! and I mean that in a goooood way!!!!! As in Thank You Jesus! Mr. Kirk ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once again - I enjoy the proof that God is in command and that in His Creation He designed each and everyone of us to be a VERY SPECIAL CREATION of HIS !!!!! and You my son are a true and Fine Example of This!!! What each one of your friends have said in these posts are a perfect example of why God said in the Bible.... Follow my leadership and follow my commandments ... marry and honor each other... Love your wife as Christ Loves The Church!!! and Kirk you and Carol are being fine examples to each one of us that reads and hears and shares in the Journey and Love Story that you two are living in your daily lives! I know that relationships are indeed WORK... but when you but the LOVE and the Right Attitude, and mix with R E S P E C T and Honor each other .... then this is a great outcome. The words of the post say.... of course .... a handmade from the HEART GIFT is truly a SPECIAL TREASURE!!! Thank YOU and Thank Carol and your family for giving each one of us FOOD FOR THOUGHT !!!.... perhaps our own spouse's are not as talented or thoughtful as you... ... ....... B U T>... that does NOT mean that WE... can' t be the talented one.. the thoughtful one the loving , giving one... OOOOOOH it's gonna take some work from me. but again I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the M A N that God created YOU to Be for Carol and your family and Children and for your students... and for the Garden WEB MEMBERS.... I'm t truly touched .. and Truly HONORED to say I know you!!! God Bless You and Your Family! Thank You for Sharing with US !!! SusanJean/GrammieJean susiesunshine

Pretty valentine gift from a friend

Glad all of you enjoyed seeing it too. It's such a neat addition to my cherub collection, Karen really does know my tastes so well and is so thoughtful and generous. I think it will take up residence in my bedroom for awhile, it's too pretty to pack away for a year! Thanks for the compliments on the tablescape--I enjoy doing it, but still am not truly confident about it--just try things until I think it looks good. OA, by all means feel free to use any ideas you like. I saw your pretty Valentine's table this morning and wondered why I didn't remember to use my rose petals on mine like you did on yours! LOL Lynn, the tablecloth was another "treasure shopping" find several years ago--less than $5 and it is pretty heavy and really larger than I need for this table, but I love the way it looks hanging down longer over the sides--sort of more romantic I think. LOL Thanks for the compliments on the painted placemats. That was just a "spur of the moment" idea that came to me for something to paint on while we were on a motorhome trip. I liked how they came out and really meant to find more to paint other things on--but haven't done so yet. I'm the world's worst procrastinator! LOL Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Luvs

More Gift Ideas Needed: Gifts for Good Friends

We had the same problem for years. We have a group of seven couples (all close in age). We would take trips together once every year or so but during the year we would take turns hosting a monthly dinner. Of course this always necessitated a hostess gift. All of us are comfortably off and at our age have everything (material) that we want or need. It drove me crazy because I was constantly being gifted with craft type items. I am just not into cutesy things and I had a difficult time coming up with items that I thought the other ladies would enjoy or use. I failingly ended up giving food items or fresh flowers. We all finally came to a consensus that we should stop doing hostess gifts and at Christmas put funds together to donate to a charity. Thank goodness! The pressure every month is off and we can give to those in need. It's a win/win.

All are lovely. I need to make some for ME!! Judy I have to laugh at your comment. My sis made a very simple first time quilt for her son. She told me she will never make another. He brought it home for her to wash after a couple of months and she said it was filthy. I think he really hurt her feelings by not taking care of it. I'm positive he does not realize how much time went into that simple quilt. Rosa

Will this help...?

might have to downsize it a bit...not sure how big the pieces are in the picture. And follow the dark lines....I had to measure a few times to get them the same.

You use TWO templates,,,the small one and the batting go together, then you use a larger one for the backing(an inch larger). You center the small one with the batting on the large one and turn eac edge down twice all around.
