We had the same problem for years. We have a group of seven couples (all close in age). We would take trips together once every year or so but during the year we would take turns hosting a monthly dinner. Of course this always necessitated a hostess gift. All of us are comfortably off and at our age have everything (material) that we want or need. It drove me crazy because I was constantly being gifted with craft type items. I am just not into cutesy things and I had a difficult time coming up with items that I thought the other ladies would enjoy or use. I failingly ended up giving food items or fresh flowers. We all finally came to a consensus that we should stop doing hostess gifts and at Christmas put funds together to donate to a charity. Thank goodness! The pressure every month is off and we can give to those in need. It's a win/win.

I love it Sharon!!!!! The colors are so pretty. I was feeling sorry for myself for having to make 20 pillow cases, 46 WOW. Anything I make for the fam I make so many for others that I don't make things for me. This coming year I have 2 baby girl quilts and then I am making some things for my home. Well, I'd like to repost my pics too from these THREE Wonderful Ladies!!! Rosie and Slow also made the dearest Gift Cards too! That will be going on my memory "Thing"(don't know yet what it will look like) from this awesome adventure! Klinger/Cindy was The BEST tour guide/ travelling buddy anyone could ever ask for! She made my first trip anywhere just sooo perfect!!! No worries! Just pure fun! And getting to meet Rosie and Slow there was just the icing and cherry on top of an already yummy cake!!! Oh my...it shows up a lot larger than I had it drawn...I had the edges from one dot to another at 2 7/8". It shows up another quarter inch larger on my screen.

You use TWO templates,,,the small one and the batting go together,then you use a larger one for the backing(an inch larger). You center the small one with the batting on the large one and turn eac edge down twice all around.
