So sweet, thanks for sharing. My kids only have one grandparent left, my Mom. But they love her fiercely. Any time my daughter would head down to Chicago for a show or a band thing in college, she would take a group of her band buddies and stay at Gram's house, where they would of course be fed with huge meals. Not too shabby for starving college students. My son and my niece are planning to spend spring break with Gramma next week. Gwen, my niece, is flying in from Colorado and Ted will be traveling down from Madison. How awesome is that that they would forgo the wild partying of spring break to spend it with their Gramma?

That you everyone for your kind comments. It is very much appreciated. Gail, nothing on this chair is glued. We sewed the welt on the bottom of the chair, and then is stapled it on. I can see from the photos that I have to staple tacking strip on the underside of the chair (on top of the welt). To answer your question when we do a chair that has double welt we hot glue it on and yes, it's the same welt you buy in the craft stores. I know I said I was going to photograph the covering of this chair with a tuturial, but truthfully this chair was a daunting and exausting tast, thus I was too tired to take photos. The seat is the first thig we did, it took all day and came out awful, so we started all over. It is made with 5 pieces of leather sewn together. The second seat came out very good. Here is a pic, (the one and only pic of the upholstering ) It shows the fresh new matting we covered the chair with. The second thing to be done was the inside back, then the inside arms, then the outside arms, and finally the outside back. Actually it was DH's idea to strip the old sofa... The only thing we had to buy is the leather needles, which we ended up not using.

Oh, that is encouraging news! The little sweetheart is trying his best to be a good big brother. Xiola just had her checkup. She is at the 50th percentile in weight and appears to be normal in development. She'll have her developmental checkup in 6 months and they'll know more. Sometimes these kids that were born with problems stop their mental and other development around her age, but she seems to be progressing well. I don't know if I told you the story, but the other day my sister went out to eat with Xiola and her mom. She wasn't eating, and her grandma tried encouraging her to take a bite. She refused and said "No, grandma. I full of baloney" Then she reached over and rubbed grandma's tummy and said, "Grandma, you full of baloney too?". What a funny little character!
