This breaks my heart...I missed the story if there was one posted, but I'm saying a prayer for this family anyway. So sad to hear of any child's passing.

Thanks everyone for the prayers.
For those who asked,Alex just turned 2 a couple of months ago.
For those who don't know the story,right before Christmas he became ill,ran a high fever and vomiting,two trips to the doctor with a diagnosis of a stomach virus.Rushed to the ER with severe infection from a bowel perforation.Basically was dead for more than 30 minutes,revived and put on life support with diagnosis of no brain stem activity.Taken off life support,was functioning on his own.Stayed in the hospital for several weeks then went home to be cared for by his mom and dad.Steadily improved over the last few months Pediatric neurologist at St.Judes in Tennessee said his brain was regenerating.He was smiling and trying to crawl and trying to walk with help.They don't know what the cause of death was and there has been nothing out of the ordinary going on with him.He seemed to be improving every day.His DGD said there had been a little problem with keeping his body temperature up but they didn't seem to think it was a real concern.We don't know if there will be an autopsy or not.

So sad, my heartfelt condolences.
