Thanks, Dave. I attached a link to the other post. I seem to have some replies now. You hit the nail on the head - I'm thinking I've either overfed them, or neglected something. The peppers showed the yellowish rims on the leaves before I ever touched them with a fertilizer, and I've never applied fertilizer during the heat of the day. I'm in North Florida and our tomato planting season was to get them in the ground NLT 9/1. I ended up getting them in the ground about a week before that. The peppers have been in the ground since 8/13 or so, and were planted from seeds saved from a container pepper with no deisease. The rest planted on schedule according to the UF planting guide site. I read that Neem was anti-fungal, and thought the yellow spots could be some infection in the plants, and therefore the spraying would help keep it under control. Could the compost tea have burned them? I don't think I have seen any additional effects after spraying the tea, other than them getting taller. Should I scrap the pepper plants, and plant beets or carrots, and cut off the lower yellowing tomato branches? Thank you SO MUCH Dave! I wish you had a TV show! I think this points out something very important about HMF: the members who use it are asked to submit information about the roses they grow and where they grow them. If you grow a specific variety of Hybrid Tea (or whatever) that shows significantly better Winter hardiness than most others, then by all means submit a Comment on the item's Comments tab to indicate that you have grown "Rose X" in zone 5 with no protection, etc etc. The Comment's tab is one of the most useful options on HMF as long as we the growers submit our personal experiences for others to learn from. As for the default Zone listings for many roses on HMF: the information should be viewed in much the same way you look at the Manufacturer's Suggested List Price when buying a car or a Television.

I have a sofa that is all down and an absolute cloud for cuddling into. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, sort of Alice-in-Wonderlandish with mixed up fabrics and trims, but an all-time favorite of ours. It's made by Zimmerman. I'm wondering if the Domain sofas were, too. So that manufacturer may be something to look out for, if the CL one doesn't pan out. Well, it depends on your definition of wonderful. I've done similar meals, and I find it incumbent on me to have some decent protein for vegans/vegetarians. Gourmet nut cheeses are delicious, but not very nutritious, for instance. This is a recipe for Vegan Gluten Free Bean and Lentil Loaf which I developed and posted some years ago. It's a big bother to make the first time, but it tastes good and lends itself to gussying up. It would freeze fine (I can't remember if I've done it, but it should work). But it's probably too close to Thanksgiving to want to go there. In terms of protein content, I prefer saitan. It's gluten, however, rather than GF, but really is a protein, whereas beans and legumes are plants with protein in them (at the most 15%). :) Saitan should be made with soy (usually it's done with soy sauce) to have complete protein, or you could use Bragg's Aminos. You can grill (stove top or oven) saitan to get some caramelized seared edges and layer it up in a strata with long thin slices of pumpkin or kabocha, zucchini, carrots, parsnips, etc., fresh herbs, and make a binder from egg replacer, or chia, or a bechamel made with hemp milk, or whatever. I don't have a recipe, however, since I usually just cook. Speaking of "balls", you can make quinoa and cranberry balls, or quinoa and sweet potato balls. Quinoa gets really boring fast, but if you make it Thanksgiving flavored it could be a hit. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Vegans are used to being odd man out and eating the sides. As you've figured out with your spinach balls, most sides can be made vegan just by not using animal products. :) The hardest to replace is eggs, but it can be done. Apparently, the goo from canned garbanzo beans is an excellent replacement for eggwhites. I haven't had a chance to try it, but you're supposed to be able to whip it, and it's supposed to make decent glue for casseroles and such. Oh. Yummy vegetarian. In this context, I take that to be lacto-ovo. I make a really yummy pumpkin lasagna, but it has tons of cheese and eggs. And it also takes a long time to make, so I'm not going to bother posting it unless you really want it. It does freeze well. I've never tried to make a vegan version.
