Best deodorant is Philips Milk of Magnesia

I tried many brands of deodorant but my armpits would just itch after a short time. I had never had any problems when I was younger. I saw this on Dr. Oz and went out and got some. It is the greatest thing ~ no irritation and absolutely no odor . Living in a hot, humid climate this has been a miracle for me. I don't even smell lthe next day.

He said you can use it on your underarms, crotch and feet. Since I don't wear shoes my feet are ok. :) I also saw on line that it is good for acne and as a primer under your makeup.

Calamine lotion works for all these uses, too. I use it for lots of things.

There's a couple ways you can do it if you want to do it a natural way number one you need to soak your feet twice a day Faithfully don't forget and it has to be daily in apple cider vinegar because it has the it has an acid in it that will eat that away soak them for about a half an hour to an hour when you are done Pat them dry or let them dry naturally you don't have to worry about drying the vinegar off it won't hurt you then what I need you to do is you need tea tree essential oil and olive oil you need to mix those two half and half a bottle of tea tree essential oil will cost you about 6 bucks and when you mix that with olive oil make sure that goes back in another glass bottle does not matter how big the bottle is just make sure it's glass because plastic will cross-contaminate mix them half and half after your feet are dry take a cotton ball and a bit into the tea tree olive oil mixture and rub it all over your athlete foot Parts in between your toes don't soak it rub it lightly like it's a lotion you need to do this twice a day daily after 2 weeks you will notice a difference or you can do the same thing with Listerine the brownish Listerine Listerine can be a little bit more expensive butt it does work the same but if you listen to what I just said guaranteed to work keep your feet dry at all times if you do wear socks change your socks to 3 times a day always keep your feet dry I seen other people's remedies up there but I guarantee this I cleared up toenail fungus on my toes this way that I had for years and it works for athlete's foot to athlete's foot will clear up faster two weeks Faithfully guaranteed if you follow exactly what I said

I know this thread is old but another vote for Certain Dri. Back in high school, I would literally have huge circles of sweat under my arms. So embarrassing. I tried that stuff, and I kid you not, have not sweated there since. Once a month I'll use it for a night or two, but other than that... no problems at all!! Olliesmom, you may be against it, but Botox helps with that I hear!

When I used to get a lot of bites on my arms at the lake I'd just go to the pump and pump some nice cold well water on my arms and it was so soothing. Also soothing because it was usually warm and I'd be sweaty. I wonder if the perspiration and/or the other stuff on the skin was an irritant to them too but just plain water helps me. I do it to this day if I get a lot of bites. If they're all over I'll take a shower. Plus just avoid scratching. And of course, move to where there's fewer mosquitoes as a proactive step. Don't like skeeters.

Thank you for the lesson on soap and water, cynic. I assure you I do bathe regularly with both and still like to use deodorant. The purpose of my post was to give an alternative to the many people who think that anti-perspirants are unhealthy. I get that most people aren't interested but there are some who are. Clogging up one of the body's major detoxification points in order to smell powder fresh all day is certainly a popular choice but there are alternatives out there. This combination is working beautifully for me. I have absolutely no smell at all since I put it on this morning, with no rash or irritation. And while I agree that sometimes people can't smell themselves, I definitely can because that's how I knew that other ones I previously tried over the last few weeks didn't work, lol. Between that, and brutally honest friends, I am assured that what I've found works for me. In the end, it's up to everyone to make their own decisions. I try not to use anything on my body that I couldn't eat if I wanted to because that's what I feel is the healthiest way to live. And yes, I am a worrywort. Have you seen the recent cancer statistics? Something like 1 in 3 will be diagnosed in their lifetime, and it's rising all the time. I'm doing everything I can to avoid it. The body has an amazing ability to detoxify and heal if only we let it and not clog it up with chemicals and preservatives and parabens and toxins and all the other crap in conventional beauty products.

But what does it look like under your arms? Can you wear sleeveless tops?

it doesn't show anything on your skin and it has no odor. I wear sleeveless things most of the time.

This is interesting. I have kidney disease so sweating is a problem now that the kidneys don't function at full speed. I've tried everything. I'm going to try the M of M and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

It's kind of messy to try to pour a little out of the original bottle onto your hand so I found a little plastic bottle that's like one that comes with hair coloring but had a screw on lid. (at a Japanese store here).

It dries almost instantly and completely clear on your skin. When we went to Wal-Mart they only had small bottles that were cherry or mint. I got the mint but can't smell it on my skin.

I got mine at the dollar store, Dollar Tree I believe. A big bottle for just one dollar. It works great. I just use a cotton ball, a large one. I like to put it in a little small plastic dish like a Ziploc brand container or Tupperware type.

My 16 yr old dabs his pits with rubbing alcohol...he says it makes a huge difference.
Have no idea where he got the idea from..he's a super science geek..so it could be any where..
He's been trying to get Kamren to bathe in it....lol...

Robert came home with a bottle tonight (I had told him about this post). Stay tuned! It will an interesting experiment, that's for sure.

Have done some reading about the alternative uses of MOM....I'm going to use some on my face for the oily spots. It can be used as a makeup primer. And did you know, Dorothy, that MOM deoderant exists on the market? Who knew?

I saw it on Dr. Oz. I have tried different deodorants over the past few years and they all just made me itch and drove me crazy at night. I didn't have a problem when I was younger.

I tried aloe vera to help the itch and it seemed to help with the BO but not for all day. Dr. OZ mentioned using vinegar and then aloe vera and that was a tiny bit better. The vinegar kills the bacteria. Then when he said MOM and I tried it that was the answer for me.

He had a lady on his show who's armpits were a MESS from shaving and then using deodorant. I never saw such a mess before. He said the MOM killed the bacteria and thus no odor.

Alcohol also kills the bacteria, I have used it before, just not after shaving!
Many deodorants and anti perspirant contains magnesium check the label.
If you want to stop sweating be sure you aren't just using a deodorant, they are not all one and the same, you want an anti perspirant deodorant combined.
Using a little baking soda with a bit of water to dissolve it rubbed in the pits works too. Arm and hammer make a stick product now.

To apply the milk of magnesia get one of those dauber containers like they use for bingo, the sponge dauber makes a good application device. . I have bought those at hobby stores and office supplies stores. I have never used one for that but I have used them for applying other things.

I just wanted to report that I tried the MOM after my shower on Saturday and every day since. It works perfectly!

I pour a small amount in the little cup that comes with it and apply it with a cotton ball.

Robert likes it, too.
