Marigolds are annuals here... I'm not sure about your area msdorkgirl ...??? One stock with flowers on top??? I use French Marigolds here and they are very stinky.... I have no idea if Marigolds will help with thrips and Spider mites since I've never seen those insects here with or without Marigolds planted... Sorry...??? I would NOT plant Marigolds in the same pot your roses are in that's for sure ... Your situation is different because all your roses are in pots... So you would have to get more pots to plant Marigolds in then sit those pots around your roses is all I can think of??? You could of just bought a couple Marigolds and potted those up and sat them close to a rose bush you were having trouble with to see if it helped... Experimenting like that is what I did... Here's a young Marigold plant I started from seed... Here's what they look like when they get a bit older... Ours will grow like 10 inches high by 14 inches wide...They bloom heavily all season long here... I sat these 3 large pots in the back of this rose bush... I have a smaller pot in front of the rose bush... And I got 2 real small seedlings growing near that bush... This Marigold plant is in a much smaller pot....

Hi Jim: Getting to know neighbors is important. Few summers ago, our side of the street lost electricity for 4 hours, but people across the street still had their power on. So I went to my neighbor across the street to borrow her microwave to defrost a frozen dinner for my kid. Later on our refrigerator broke down, my husband fixed it ... but I had to put my food in the neighbor's refrigerators. One neighbor's washing machine broke down, and they had to travel far to get it washed. One product bad for roses: salt in chemical fertilizer, also salt in sewage sludge (milorganite), and salt in horse manure. Salt drives down potassium. However, salt is VERY USEFUL in lessening a cold. My kid caught a cold Feb. 6. Her cold lasted 1 day: she had fever & took a nap. I gave her Brewer's yeast & buckwheat honey & milk .. and her cold was gone the next day. My husband got it worse: 2 weeks of bloody nose, coughing .. he took daytime cold medicine (with caffeine), plus night-time cold medicine (Acetaminophen which suppress fever). What I learned from my microbiology professor: skip the cold medicine that suppress fever, since fever is nature's way of raising the temp. to kill the virus. She told the class to rinse their throat with very-salty-water at the 1st sign of a cold. I have Calendula flowers in my garden (it's a perennial): "1/2 cup arrowroot powder & 1 tsp chamomile or calendula flowers, powdered in the blender or food processor or a few drops of chamomile essential oil." Chronic sinus can also be from allergies to cat-dander. When I first met my husband, he had 4 cats, I constantly sneezed from the cat's hair. He gave away 3, and kept only one cat. I washed his cat weekly, to decrease the dander, so I won't sneeze so much. Now we have zero cat, bad-allergy. However, probiotics like L. I won't say there's anything I'm so emotionally attached to that would constitute "love" be there are several things I like. Deodorant is Mitchum Unscented antiperspirant. Lately, I've had such dry skin on my legs that things won't heal, it itches, I scratch and cycle repeats. The doctor nagged me at the last physical to use some lotion. Well, I hate stinky lotions. I've used the Neutrogena Hand Cream for years and it's not so offensive. A friend used it for years and I tried it decades ago and liked it but didn't have a lot of need for it. It's kind of spendy and you can't empty the tube but I'll pay for quality. I tried one I saw on Youtube, a coconut cream from Dollar Tree and it seems to soak in more quickly than Neutrogena. It's real thin and it has a "coconut" smell that isn't too offensive. Found a "Diabetics Lotion" at Dollar Tree too that I decided to try. It's like a thick toothpaste in texture, maybe thicker, but it's unscented, which does not mean there's no smell at all but there isn't the perfumey stench that most have and it works fairly well. They quit making the White Rain shampoo I liked. One of the few that really worked well but it's gone. Found something similar in Pantene and that's now discontinued. So I use whatever is cheap now. I just found a Gillette body wash that I really like. Smells, but not too offensive, cleans well and rinses well and for me, clean and quick rinsing is very important since I can't stand around waiting forever to rinse off like I could in the past. I too have tried the turmeric curcumin and anecdotally, I'm going to keep using it. I use MoveFree Ultra (one tiny pill instead of 2-3 horse pills for normal glucosamine/chondroitin/msm) and I've been taking ginger root for joint pain too and again, nothing clinical but seems to make a difference. I've been taking cranberry supplements and drink cranberry juice regularly. There's quite a difference there and a multi-vitamin, calcium and when I'm not feeling well I add some vitamin C. I really liked Crest Lemon Ice toothpaste. I actually noticed myself brushing longer with it. I liked the flavor. Discontinued. So I went to the Crest Citrus. Discontinued. Why do people insist on mint for everything? They even discontinued the Equate Citrus mouthwash so now it's pay over twice as much for Listerine or go to mint. For quite a while I switched to the foaming hand soap. I'd either buy the $1 bottles or get a refill and fill the empties. But I came across a lemon scented liquid soap that isn't offensive. Actually smells good. Found a Berry scent at Dollar Tree that also isn't offensive so now I mix them up a bit between the liquid and foam. And for the price, it rivals bar soap cost without the mess.
