I spray Isopropal Alcohol directly on those bites. It may take a few minutes to stop the itching, but it really works for me.

A trick I was taugh in Hawaii many years ago.....Either fresh papaya or a loose paste of meat tenderizer and water. The active ingredient in meat tenderizer is papaya, the enzymes in it neutralize the venom.

When I know I'm going anywhere where there might be mosquitoes, I bring Witch Hazel with me. It soothes the bite and keeps me from scratching it and making it worse. I don't do well with mosquito bites.

No home remedy, I use calamine lotion, the clear type unless it is really bad, then I use the pinkish stuff. It seems to work a little better. My cousin uses bar soap.

Ordinary toothpaste works to stop the itch. Doesn't look great if you have a lot though.

Mosquito bites are Heat-Labile.
Applying heat will remove the itch forever.
Running hot water over the itch works well.

I read to apply some vinegar to the bites. I haven't tried it yet.

Mosquito bites are an inflammatory response to the substance that the mosquito injects...
2 Advil will remove the itch for up to 6 hours....then repeat.

Bites get red, hot, quite large, and raised on me. I take Benedryl.

To get rid of mosquitoes I hear listerine works, just spray it around you. For the itch just try everything you can for itching.

When I used to get a lot of bites on my arms at the lake I'd just go to the pump and pump some nice cold well water on my arms and it was so soothing. Also soothing because it was usually warm and I'd be sweaty. I wonder if the perspiration and/or the other stuff on the skin was an irritant to them too but just plain water helps me. I do it to this day if I get a lot of bites. If they're all over I'll take a shower. Plus just avoid scratching. And of course, move to where there's fewer mosquitoes as a proactive step. Don't like skeeters.

I like to gently rub an ice cube on itchy bites to sooth them. It takes the swelling and heat off for a while, relieves the itch. DD is a mosquito magnet. I give her ice cubes, let her sit on a towel on the floor, and rub them all. It also keeps her busy and her mind off it. ;o)

alcohol..not the kind you drink lol, my mom also put mom..milk of magnesia ..comes on a big blue bottle. works for hives too god i hated that stuff!! i felt chalky (is that a word) for days. i remember ticks being "backed out" with turpentine, worked everytime, nothing more embarrassing than having someone pull one of them out of youre belly button or umm..chest area with a pair of tweezers though if they are to far in. itch like crazy just like skeeters.

Make a poltice of baking soda and water, and put it on the bites. Removes the itch and sting. Looks ridiculous, but it works.

I've had good luck with a dab of Mineral Ice--it's menthol, so it cools the itch pretty well.

put a small amount of water, and a bayer asprin and make a paste, instantly takes the itch away.

Paste of baking soda + white vinegar. Sooths irritated, itchy skin.
