You need antihistamines. If you have any benedryl, take 2. It will make you sleepy, so if you take it during the day, 1 might be better. But take 2 at bedtime. If you have any benedryl spray, use it. If you don't have any benedryl, take a cold medication or allergy medication with antihistamine in it.

Be careful taking an OTC antihistamine if you're on any other meds, some should NOT be combined.

And frankly--I'm on 2 prescription antihistamines daily--for my allergies, and that doesn't do a thing for itchy bites. I find that anything menthol seems to help. Not being a big fan of caladryl (hate walking around with those pink polka dots--LOL) I use a dab of mineral ice on mosquito bites and it helps some.

Try touching the bite with ammonia....it sounds strange, but usually helps.

I'm not allergic to them, fortunately, because I live on the "mosquito coast".

Skeeters love me & will bite one spot while I am putting mosquite 'dope' on others! Mitchums roll on deoderant stops the itching for a few hours for me...and may be worth a try for you.

I find regular paste toothpaste works well at stopping the itch.

I find scratching, till I draw blood the best solution for itchy mosquito bites.

But it looks ugly.

I wish, I knew what I should/will do, when I get up north, and the skeeters bother me on my ride.

"Scratch til you bleed" works only temporarily...they itch again! I tried toothpaste in Central America when I got bit by a bunch of "no see ums" and was miserable for days. That's where I tried both the OTC and the Rx cortisone creams.

At times, they don't itch at all. At other times, they are all wild at once. I guess there is some kind of systemic histamine response.

I've never tried Mithcum's for skeeter bites. I'll give that a try.

Surely there's some old "pine tar and molasses" remedy out there.

if you have some asprin (not tylenol) take some and put a small amount of water in until it makes a paste, put that on them....they quit itching almost instantly.

Usually an ice cube rubbed over the bite will take away the itch.

I'm just posting to say I'm sorry you're itching. I don't have much advice other than what's been said. Mosquitoes don't like me very much.
