Send me some energy...

So rather than doing a card shower like we do for some people around here, can we do an energy shower? I need some. I wont be greedy, I'll take just a little bit! LOL

I feel like I felt when I was first pregnant....the littlest task is so difficult because I feel completely zapped of all my energy. If I remember correctly, I had the same thing happen when I was pregnant with Grant. I feel like I could just sleep the next 3.5 weeks away...

So let me know if you have any energy to spare and maybe you can paypal it over to me? LOL I promise in 18 years when my kids are grown up and move on, I'll send it back.

Just rest as much as you can Steph....Are you going to have some help when you get home? You have to just take it easy whenever you can find a minute ...I understand the lack of energy though...it's rough...buttttttttttttttttttttttt

soon you will have that little precious angel to cuddle in your arms...How wonderful is that.....

If you send me a stamped envelope I can send you a couple of varieties that will actually do well in your climate. Pears aren't the easiest fruit to get up the sugar up north so you need to grow the right ones. Bartlett will be reliable where you are. You might as well grow Seckel instead of Warren because it's a better setter of fruit of similar flavor- fruit-set can also be a problem with pears. Aurora is good and Sheldon can be fantastic for a lover of Comice. Comice is a more southern variety and I don't like northeast Anjous either- they don't get enough sugar here. I highly recommend Harrow Sweet but I have no wood to offer this year. I do have Harrow Delight which is a very productive Bartlett type, but bears in early-mid Aug when I'm not much interested in pears. I don't have time to run to the post office so tell me how much weight I can put into a stamped addressed envelope and I'll give you a sampler.

Roger, Sugar apples prefer soil pH that is mostly alkaline between 7.0-8.0. At the bottom is a guide to growing them. It was written for the growing conditions in Florida but just make adjustments that suit your region. I feed mine a water soluble complete fertilizer 20-20-20 with minor elements every two weeks. To a gallon of water I mix 1 oz of water soluble fertilizer then I pour it at the base of the trunk. I start seeds in a pot with quality soil. when they are about 3 inches high I feed them a weak solution of the same water soluble fertilizer as above but I use 1/2 oz to a gallon of water. When they reach a foot high I plant them in the ground near a wind break. When I grow them using this system they bloom sooner. To make the plant branch out more, pinch back the tips periodically. I'm trying to rest as much as possible. My mom has been a really big help. Right now, my husband is out of town. He's at the lake house this weekend with his dad rebuilding the deck/dock. They're trying to get it finished before we head up there for New Years next week.

After baby comes, I'll have help. Brent will be home when needed, or he'll take Grant with him to work so I can rest when Camryn sleeps (which newborns do alot of), and my mom will of course be here. She's a LIFESAVER!

Grant just went down for a nap so I'm going to go eat something real quick and then go to bed myself for a short nap.

What I send you won't last long, I have lotsa sugary energy from snacking on Nanimo Bars DD bought and cut out cookies and Olive spread and crackers.
Take your nappy, and by the time you wake up you will feel the waves of energy heading out to you from ND!

Rest all you can, now. Take a nap or just lie down any time you feel tired. I remember the feeling, the late weeks of pregnancy. Eat small meals/snacks like cheese and crackers, peanut butter on graham crackers. And lots of fluids. I am sending you some energy. Whoomp!

Just think...it's almost over for you! You won't have any energy for a few years...so rest up now! Is she due the 22nd??

I wish I had some extra energy to spare for ya kiddo. I wish I lived closer so I could help you and your Mom with Grant.

Vikki, my actual due date is the 27th but my c-section is on the 22nd. So unless she decides to come early, she'll for sure be here on the 22nd....less than 4 weeks. Whew!

Did you ask Grand for some?
When I was at that point, I would see my other child(ren) running around and just wish I could bottle their energy, or borrow it, or copy it... something! It's not fair that they have so much while Mom's is going, going, gone. ;o)

stephanie, I keep saying I wish I had the energy that my son has in his pinkie finger!! LOL

redcurls, I have been SOOOO bad this pregnancy about taking pics. Poor 2nd child gets not even half the stuff/memorabilia that the 1st gets. I have taken I think 2 pics this whole pregnancy. I will take one tomorrow (let's hope I remember!).
