I bought a gift card and a pair of fluffy socks at the same store and had to pay for them separately. That meant two transactions on my debit. They said the computer wasn't set up to do the two purchases in the same transaction as gift cards had to be checked in separately. And I thought computers were supposed to make life easier!

Animal Planet just left...they came to film the releasing of two raccoons.

There was a camera guy and a sound guy and a girl. I introduced myself. The camera guy said his name, and I couldn't understand how to pronounce it. I asked him again, and he repeated it. Again I didn't understand it. I should have let well enough alone...but I said, "I am sorry. How is that pronounced? Is it Pizza?" That is what I thought he was saying. No. He was saying "Peetah"....his name was Peter. He is from England.

Not really stupid, but strange!!! I teach first aid/CPR to my high school students each year. Last year, during the lesson on fainting, one of the students actually fainted! During my 1st class today I taught about sprains and bone fractures. During the 2nd class, I heard moans coming from outside my classroom. Sure enough one of the food service workers had fallen and hurt her ankle! Ahhh! I'm afriad to teach this again next year! I don't want to have to give anyone CPR!

Well, I think I'm really losing it.....I told DGD that I would send her some UK money that I had left from a trip. (She's in Scotland at the moment.) I know I had seen it not long ago......£ coins and some others. Do you think I can find it now? Did I dream it, or is the old mind just going??

The other night I wrote out 2 bills. One for cable and one for a new subscription to Reader's Digest. I lost the one for the magazine subscription. It has just vanished, like part of my brain, right now!

I sent out all my xmas cards leaving one for DB to send his daughter a check. He opened it and said this is already wrote in! You guessed it, I either sent a blank card or just an envelope.

I was in Smart&Final (name really fits this story) the other day. The lady in front of me was buying a large quantity of cased soda. She had one each of 4 kinds and 6-8 cokes. She put the 4 different kinds and one of the coke ones on the conveyer belt. The checker insisted she had to ring each of the cokes separately.

Another checker opened a new line. Since I was next I went over to him where a man from the end of our line tried to cut me off. Then the same man proceeded to invade my space with his cart. I finally had enough an hip checked the cart back into him. HARD. I did this without looking. Heard a loud OW. Again without looking back I said "whoops didn't see ya". Checker grinned. My item rang up higher than it should have. I figured there would be another snag but checker simply asked me the price and punched it in.

As I left the lady with soda was still being rung up by the dumb checker she got. My smart checker would probably make rude guy behind me jump through hoops. LOL

Hubby called his brother yesterday. Now this brother always calls back after 9 when hubby leaves a message. So hubby thought he hung up the phone and said "No I won't call you back, because I don't want called after 9:00 when I am in bed." The phone was still connected - lol. Hubby said "well I guess I told him"
Today I found reed difusers on sale at K-Mart for half price. I grabbed a bunch of them and some scented snowflakes that were also half price. Then I needed some rechargable batteries. Got to the checkout and my bill was $75! I was expecting $35.
So I stood there and the poor clerk checked the items and $75 was right and I will never again do that without adding up the total.

That may not have been because the employee is stupid. Some places have rules that EVERYTHING must pass over the scanner. This is to prevent theft. Stores have these policies put in place for a reason. One form of theft is for a dishonest checker to "work" with a person posing as a customer and not ring up things in the cart or under ring the amount, say 2 items, instead of 12.

I have experience this inconvenience too when checking out and having to unload twenty identical items instead of them ringing the code and a [quanity@].

I was in Michaels yest. and the clerk couldn't break a $100. bill. I said " I can break it for you." So I gave the clerk 5 $20. bills. Oh, they were so appreciative. Then I get to Bath & Body and try to pay w/ the $100. bill and they couldn't break it. What goes around, comes around.

I was caught attempting to start my chain saw. I had been told I am not allowed to use it just because they are afraid I will hurt myself. I've been using a chainsaw for many years and haven't hurt myself or anyone else yet. I know the kids love me and want to protect me but jiminny crickets I'm not totally unfunctional and can do a little bit of wood cutting. They should be more worried about me slicing my fingers off while I'm using a knife preparing dinner. LOL

Had a coworker go off on me about not having completed something that isn't even supposed to be done until Monday. It's a report that needs to include all transactions right up to Sunday. Um....if I run the report now it won't include events that happen in the FUTURE.

Dope.

It wouldn't have bothered me so much if she hadn't made such a big deal about it and brought me in front of my boss to cause a to-do.

People make mistakes, we don't have to be snotty about it. I wasn't snotty to HER when I pointed out HER mistake, after all ;).

Because of no power yesterday I parked outside all night. Today I tried to get the garage door opener to work but it wouldn't open. After several tries, I finally got a step ladder and got up to read the tag hanging from the red emergency cord. I had forgot how you were suppose to do it. I thought it would have fixed itself. I also took the gate apart to get in and out but it on a battery not electricity so didn't need to. Hey, I am not the one that usually fixes things like this around here.

As we have some compacted ice/snow on the city roads I thought it was better to go thru on a yellow/red light instead of stopping. No cars and Yes I was driving slow. I just barely touched the brakes but I knew I wasn't going to stop.
