Getting ready to go to the annual Soup Walk in Deerwood/Crosby/Ironton MN -- about 20 soups to sample! We are happy to have the temps at 6 degrees ABOVE zero today! After the soup it's on to some shopping and a Saturday night with DH, some popcorn, a drink and hopefully a good movie! Everyone stay safe out there.

Six inches of snow. It's pretty but dangerous. A 36 year old girl was killed yesterday afternoon on a road that we often travel on.

It's been snowing since before 2am here. I'm not doing much. Carpel tunnel hit yesterday so I've got my brace on resting it. I did put button holes in white fleece for my village so I can hide the cords. I hate sewing button holes! Second load of clothes are in the washer. DH got the newspaper and burned the brush pile. Oh and the village is up just needs the extension cord and power strips to plug it in.

I just returned home from buying more Christmas cards. The weather is warm and sunny and the traffic is terrible!! Looks like our cold weather is gone for a while.

Finishing the decorating today, except maybe for the bannister. I like to wind ribbon around a fake pine garland and then hang various home made ornaments from friends on the ribbon. Takes a little while, especially with no helper. Then I can start wrapping presents. Still have to come up with something else for DH too.

We are giving our older son one gift that I can't figure out how to wrap--$100 for a nice dinner out with his wife. And our daughter and SIL asked for cash to put toward buying a new rug when the remodel is completed. Their family of 4 is living in the upstairs master bedroom, bathroom and office for 4 months or so till it is done.

Does he like puzzles? They have one that you can put money in and then have to work the puzzle to get it out...

Some snow flurries,and 0 hoping for warm up next week until Fri, the the bottom falls out again. Unusual for this month, maybe Jan will be warmer.

Snowing hard here too. Supposed to go all night.

I'm getting around better after being laid up with knee pain all week, so I stocked up on a bunch of things yesterday, including bird seeds and cat food. That makes me feel prepared for bad weather.

I've been doing some gift wrapping and feeding the woodstove.

Not a flake here although many cancelled plans because of predicted 6-8 inches starting at 6 AM. Weathermen are useless.

Super lazy day..first weekend in months that we have zero to do...just finished eating sausage links and eggs.

I will likely do some baking..

The snow stopped about one hour ago; I am guessing about 6 - 7" since 22 hours ago. Supposed to dip into the low teens (again), about 33 now.

We lived in the country and our newspaper comes via a long guy in his Volvo. He was a no-show today. I hope they don't charge me for this.

DH and I did our errands yesterday so are snug at home today. Snow started about 5 a.m. and is letting up now (2 p.m.). We've had at least three inches. Eliot 'held it' until Pop shoveled a place for him beyond the back door. (He's fine on walkies after breakfast, but three inches of snow out back? Oh, NO!)

I am cleaning the downstairs to get ready for our family gathering next Saturday~~I did some when I decorated so not much to do~~I will clean the kitchen closer to party day. I am for the first time ever very late in my shopping;(

Been so dang cold here all week I sat in the fridge to keep warm.

I've been sick the last few days so I'm anxious to get out to do errands, but ohhhhh, the traffic, I'm sure! I left some shoes to be repaired a couple of weeks ago and he must be thinking I'm not coming back. Slow going today, but it's nice to feel pretty good again. Cold and blowy all day today. We shovelled a couple of times, and the landlords shovelled again, now that they are home.

We just stayed home all day, and I puttered around the kitchen a bit. I have rolls rising now.

Sue, do you use the buttermilk refrigerated dough for your rolls? I've made that a couple of times and it keeps for a week in the frig. You just tear off what you want to make into rolls.

Sheila, can you buy your son a pair of socks, or some little funny thing and stuff the bill into it?

Sherry no I do not use the recipe you are talking about. I have made those before, mine uses a quart of regular milk for the recipe. I will be doubling the recipe or at least making it twice! It is supposed to keep a week in the refrigerator too.

I just got my tree up. Precious Finn is coming over this evening for a couple of hours while his parents go to dinner to celebrate their 22nd anniversary. I promised him my tree would be up by the time he got here.
Yesterday I went to my friend's funeral and last night I went to the Brass and Bells Concert at church.
It is cold here, in the teens. No snow since the 2 inches we got earlier in the week. Monday it is supposed to be 40 and the snow will melt.

Usually when I make rolls I bake them in a muffin tin so they are browned all over.

Tonite I decided to put them in a 9x13 glass dish. They are wonderful!!! Pull-aparts and so tender.

There are only 6 left, as I gave 6 to my neighbours,
Might have to make more tomorrow! :)

I'm taking a break from decorating to eat lunch and check in here.
I'm the crazy lady who can't stop putting more and more on the Christmas tree. It's on a rotiatng stand so I sit and watch until I see a place empty enough to hang up something else.

Bit of moisture fell here and there but not really rain.
Didn't get any baking done..
The only thing I accomplished was sweeping the house..

It was in the mid 60's here today but windy & rainy. We haven't left the house.

Spent Friday night with my two SILs, dinner (on them) at a nice Italian restaurant. We exchanged gifts. Saturday I put up our little (table-top) pre-lighted Christmas tree. I had a minor accident getting it down from the attic. The metal tree base fell and knocked me on the cheek, under my eye. So I sat with ice on it for a half hour. I recovered enough to finish assembling and decorating the tree. Made hero sandwiches for dinner for me and hubby. We got some snow (Long Island NY)- maybe 4 inches. . I shovelled twice so not much accumulated this morning (Sunday). Today I'll finish my Christmas cards and do some gift-wrapping. Not a lot of work left for me. I do enjoy December but I must pace myself, not do too much. This year I am NOT baking cookies. Too much work and I don't need to eat so much sweets and desserts.

Please post the Buttermilk rolls recipe sounds so good and I love baking with buttermilk.Thank you.

sorry forgot about the weather report got too involved with the buttermilk rolls! It will be -2 here but that's a hot spell compared to what we have been having. Lots of cold days in the minus 20's and so much snow the snow plowing equipment cant keep up and snow plowing budgets way over the top. So much ice on the rods and many accidents. Just safe to stay home if you don't need to go out.

Yesterday (Saturday) was an ugly day with winds and blowing snow. There were many accidents on the highways. One was a 20-car pileup. Another, a car slid into the path of an SUV and the driver of the car was air-lifted to another hospital.

Today is a much nicer day.....cold but no wind.

We just came in from shovelling, and I have my clothes out on my laundry rack on the balcony......getting frozen! LOL

No snow today, sunny! Finally, the snow plow came past the house! 20 mph wind from the west, along with 13 degree temps makes it seem down right nippy outside.

Another day indoors, I have read the newspaper and will work on the crossword once I have everything done on this here machine.
